Just did a trial run with the Matt set for the sides. Relatively easy and doesn’t feel sharp on the hand. It’s quite forgiving stuff and can be lifted and reapplied with ease.
The gloss sides are a wet application which will be easier to apply.

Sorry about the pics... getting the other half’s Samsung s10 to focus is a nightmare!

What are your thoughts after the last couple days? Did you use the matte or glossy sides?

For those interested, the skin peeled off nicely and left no residue behind.

The phone is now wrapped in a cardboard box, waiting for UPS to arrive to collect it!

I've used extreme skins before for my iPX and they were excellent so bought some for the iP12Pro. This time though I've found both Matt and Gloss to be a little to exact in size. They go right to the edge which makes it easy to catch the edge with your hand.

Ideally they need to fit within the steel band as this would avoid the sharp edge feel and reduced the risk of catching it and peeling off.

I also don't like how they fix on the matt glass compared to gloss glass. They will probably work a lot better on the iPhone 12 rather than the pro.

I have some coming in the next few days. Doesn’t sound too promising.

Did you order the back film or just the film for the sides? The other alternative clear films are from SlickWraps and SopiGuard. Both don’t offer a different finish for the back sides but it appears they are full back where you fold a flap to cover the sides.

Put mine on this morning. Won’t line up properly. I am normally a dab hand at skins but this took over an hour to put on. Was going to let it cure but didn’t like it, especially the seams where they meet look terrible. The gloss sides have lots of marks underneath that don’t come off so that looked nasty too.

Have taken it back off and gone back to my silicon case.

I'm waiting for my skin to come in.

Its nice and Ive put them on past phones. Its good to have more sets cause dust gets inside the skin and it looks terrible after awhile.

In good iPhone launch spirit, I will give 2 of these sets away ( for free) that are no longer any use to me:

1 x Matt back and gloss sides
1 x Matt back and Matt sides

Obviously for the 12 pro!

Limited to UK crew!

Aren’t you getting a replacement pro?

Edit: just seen you are going for the max

Thanks for the feedback. There is another company called SopiGuard which makes a clear/matte film. When you order a skin it comes with the back, sides and camera. Very inexpensive at $7.99. They don’t offer the choice of a different finish on the sides vs back so you would need to order a clear and matte to get the finish combination.

I installed something similar to this a few days after i got my Iphone Pro, then i dropped it and scraped the side (just the right area where nothing was protected)

The other thing that the skins don’t protect are the buttons.

I used to use skins with iPods and the like.

I was hoping in these years that the materials or process will have improved but I’m still hearing that dust and debris will inevitably catch on the sides and over time, the skin will lift slightly, allowing more dust and debris until it looks unsightly, making me want to remove the whole thing altogether.

I might just have to continue using the phone naked and be extra careful with it for now.

It’s a tiny mark on the top of the glass by the camera. Really small looks like a speck of dust only visible on very very close inspection but now I’ve seen it, I can’t un-see it! It’s within 14 days so I’m confident they will have it back.

A couple questions:

  1. How long after application did you start using it?
  2. How long did it take for all the bubbles to completely disappear?
  3. Did the bubbles around the camera cut-out disappear?
I installed my matte back almost a week ago and left it sitting idle, and yet there are still bubbles around the camera cut-out. I wonder if using it/charging, etc. instead of leaving it idling, will allow the remaining bubbles to dissipate from the battery's heat?

Looking forward to hear your thoughts on this!
