So, I wanted to create this poll, because I have been seeing a lot of crazy posts on the threads the last few days. The amount of people that bought an iPhone 8 or iPhone 8 plus and are now also getting the X, BLOWS mys mind. I don’t even know how people logistically are pulling it off (with upgrades and all). I am just curious what everyone is coming from.
 
Bought 3 for launch day:
I'm coming from a Pixel XL (Gen 1)
Wife is coming from a iPhone 7Plus

Father got wind of my order and asked for my spare... he is coming from 6S Plus

Pre-ordered for mom 5-6 weeks out (after she heard about everyone else in the family getting one. She has a 6 Plus.

For me, the iPhone 7 Plus. But what you are also seeing, is you have those are selling/trading their iPhone 8 in place of Purchasing the X. But there are some intending to own both models.
 
iPhone 5. I had actually donated it to the Smithsonian several years ago, but after my 6 died, they were gracious enough to let me borrow it back for a few months until my X arrives. (11/17 - 11/24)

My daily driver is 7+ 256gb, purchased 8+ 256gb as replacement moving my 7+ to another testing device. Had no intentions of buying an X having had time previously. Friend of mine is going to have a couple of them for his testing. So he offered me one.. and ah yeah took that deal. So now I'll have 2 devices for testing purposes and my daily driver.. which will be 8+.
 
Upgrading from a 6 here. I'd keep it, but I have a small crack on my screen and I figured now is as good a time as any to upgrade.

Nice survey/thread/post. I'm coming from an iPhone 6s Plus.

I usually get a new iPhone every 2 years. I'm saving now (paying full price for the X through the same effort 2 years ago) for my next phone in 2019 or whenever I feel the time is right after that point.
 
My 6 died two months ago and I've been using a battered 5 with a cracked screen so it's a giant leap for me.
 
Coming from a 6, have a 256Gb X on preorder but am waiting for more reviews to see if worth dropping down to an 8+ this year and jump on th X+ next year...
 
I have pretty much every flagship this year as would other years so I'll be coming from more recently a v30 note 8 pixel 2 XL s8 + and will be buying the u11 plus and maybe the Mate 10 pro
