With the alternative being a shattered phone on the first drop? You bet your ass.

I've dropped my phone a couple of times and it's never smashed. Maybe I've been lucky.

I just can't see the point of such a beautiful product being hid under an ugly case. I don't put bodywork from a fiat over my Rolls just in case I have a crash.

The mind boggles and these are, of course, just my opinions.

I use a case on my iPhone, because I don't want to look at a scratched up phone every time I pick it up and I want top dollar for my phone when it's time to sell it. My 5 did however get scratched on the bezel where it wasn't protected by the case. :(

I'll use one of the eleventy billion I already have for my 5. I'll probably start out with the clear Rocketfish case that was the first one I bought, as it'll show off the new design, and then switch it up after I get sick of looking at that. :)

Why on why would anyone even consider covering gorgeous iPhone 5s...
Just buy 5c instead, it is plastic already. Than again, people will put plastic cases on plastic iPhones anyway... LOL ;)
Btw; Get a pouch instead.

When the iPhone 4 came out, I bought the sky blue iPhone bumper from Apple at the same time and absolutely loved how it looked with the black iP4.

So this time, I am going to buy the Space Grey iP5s and a sky blue 5s case to try and replicate the look. Can't wait.

Same one I use now. Actually just got another to keep for my iPhone 5s.
Elago Flex Indigo blue. This case is superb. Plus it has lay on the table design and overs the edges of the white phone screen where dirt can get trapped - this keeps me from buying the official apple case- it only covers the chamfers.
It will look ace with the gold 5s.

What does the decade have to do with phones shattering,,?

Great point. If I remember correctly we used to have competitions as to how high we could throw our phone and could still use it. We even ran it over once. The 90s phones were all INDESTRUCTIBLE

Double nope. ;)

I absolutely don't get it. That's like putting a plastic cover on a leather couch.

The gold accent is suppose to be shown off. Even if u use a thin see-thru bumper, that is going to throw off the proper light reflection.

If this is a non-serious post ignore reply.

Ooh, I bet that'll be gorgeous with the gold! Might give it a try myself. I have a few Flexes, but they're all pastels.

My phone will be naked just like my 4s. It's just way to sleek & sexy to cover up. Never dropped my 4s( knock on wood). I figure if its dropped and breaks it was gonna happen regardless. You pay the $$$ for it. So YOU take care of it..

this is the case you should be getting for protection and aesthetics, To show off that nice gold.

The sides are clear rubber like a bumper and the back is a solid super clear plastic.

I really like this case (regardless of the color I choose). Wish they showed the bottom though. I charge my 5 on a Sony alarm clock every night and with some cases it just doesn't fit right. I need a pretty open bottom with little of the case sticking out. Taking my case off each night is not an option.

I went a few years without a case... until I went on vacation & dropped my 5 within a week of launch day. I was SOOOO mad that the first thing I did was find a store & bought a case that covered up the scratches. It's not awful (a bunch of scratches on the black edge, screen is ok) but it could have been worse. I'm thinking the silver trim will really hide those kinds of scratches.

Anyway, I'm tentatively thinking of not using a case this time. I'll get some kind of insurance (Apple Care or something else) and just be very careful.

After having a look around; I think I'll be getting the leather Beige iPhone 5S case. I like how it's pretty much covered the entire phone, the cut outs look neat :).

Does anyone know of a clear case that comes in to parts.

I will be getting the space grey iPhone 5s. I currently have a nice plastic two section black case for my black/slate iPhone 5. It is very well made.

What I am looking for is a case with the same quality but clear. A lot of the clear cases I see are one piece. I want a high quality clear plastic case that comes in two parts? Anyone know of one?

I'll be getting something from Germanmade if I get the 5S.

Personally, I'd get a official leather case that would cover the sides and back. I kind of like the gold ring on the home button but everything else is just excessive.

I honestly still can't believe people use cases on their phones. Are we in the 90's?

For me it's because the iPhones are more slippery in hand than Water Wigglers or a bar of soap.

Unless you have sweaty hands, that is.

I have a Moshi case on my 4S, but it's black on the back and silver on the sides, and very thin... can't really tell it's there, but it's very soft silicone type material.

I do agree putting a case on the phone makes the colour choice somewhat pointless though! The clear plastic ones look terrible and cheap, to me. I don't see the point of trying to show off the finish of the phone through plastic that looks like a security device... who are you trying to show off to?
