MacRumors forum member RianFlynn has shared photos of a stainless steel Apple Watch with Milanese Loop with what he says is a thin coating of 24-karat gold that costs just $6.

I think it would be very helpful if MacRumors edited their post using the following correction:

The $6 was a very unfortunate typo! i was trying to type $60. In reality the gold varies from $30 to $65 depending on the watch and band.

Otherwise people will keep pointing back at this article to say it only costs $6 in gold.
