Sim cards are tied to accounts, not phones.

You can put your AT&T sim card into any phone that will accept that size sim and use it on your AT&T account for that day, that week, that month.

You can use a different phone each day if you have access to that many phones.

You are worrying over something that doesn't exist.

Problem solved. Thanks everyone!

How do we restore an iPhone to 8.1? When I tried to restore my iPhone 5s earlier before jail breaking iTunes wanted to download & install 8.1.1

I'm guessing they'll jailbreak 8.1.1 before too long

Is this a random guess or is it based off any credible information?

You have to download the IPSW files and restore manually. option + click update (on mac) and select the ipsw file. This method will not work once Apple stops signing 8.1

There will be plenty of new iDevices on 8.1 for quite some time to come.
The worry to 'hurry up and purchase' is overrated.

I had to get a replacement iPhone 6 a week ago and it came preloaded with iOS 8.0. I think it's more realistic that for now new devices will come with that instead of 8.1.

And we all know how buggy 8.0 was.... As 8.1 wasn't out for that long, I doubt you'd see preloaded on many devices.

That is incorrect. It is not overrated. Whether someone gets a 8.1.1 or 8.1 (or earlier) will simply be the luck of the draw and based on *when* that device left the factory. Chances are all devices leaving the factory from this point forward (or in the very near future) will probably have 8.1.1 preloaded.

There are already reports of people getting new devices with 8.1. I received a new 6+ this weekend and it was loaded with 8.0.2.

The Chinese developers don't have to worry about getting sease and assist letters for using copyrighted materials to jailbreak. They have a better chance at creating the tools than other US based developers, or so I've heard. I could be wrong.

Where's a good site to download 8.1?

Yea, I'm not questioning their hacking ability. Jailbreak devs have, in the past, decided against wasting exploits on certain versions. So, I was wondering if you or anyone had any insider info or are just wildly guessing about 8.1.1.

Yeah I agree, its all just a gamble. Which carrier is your 6+ and where did you order it from?

Just wildy guessing.. Lol

Updated to iOS 8.1 about 2 hours ago on iPad 3. Finally finished restoring apps, jailbroke and successfully used OpenBackup to restore Cydia apps.

iPad 3 is now laggy. I think I did some tweaks to make it run faster on 7.1.2, so I'll have to fiddle around to see what I can do and whether this upgrade was worth it.

Are the new sharing features outside of my grasp if I don't upgrade to iCloud Drive? I have Yosemite on my production MBP, but still use daily Snow Leopard and iOS 5 on the old Touch. The latter cannot be upgraded.

ATT. I used istocknow.com to check the Apple store inventory and walked into the store and purchased it.

Thanks, heres to hoping that the new batch of 6+s VZW online received this past weekend was manufactured recently and has 8.1!

The worry to 'hurry up and purchase' is overrated.

I think the reason why it's important is because people have the flexibility to restore if something goes wrong (whether it's during the jailbreak process, installing new tweaks, or even messing around with the phone to learn how to do something)
