How many points? I'm going to be closing all my cards except two. I'd love to have some basic knowledge!

It all depends on your other history. Credit Karma (not an endorsement) has a what-if simulator, but be aware that they use VantageScore and not FICO. They'll be in the same neighborhood.

I was indeed doing an IUP. And what a nightmare it ended up being. I had brought my new iPhone 11 Pro in with some issue... the Apple employee helping me thought it would be easier to just do a return and issue new phone. I didn’t realize he was doing this until he had processed a return. But then Citizens One woulnt approve the new phone (because it takes 24-48 hours to update their system that I had returned the first). I had to leave and come back several days later. With no phone. I was not happy. And when they finally processed the exact same phone, it cost a lot more... figured out that I was at an Apple store in Tacoma, which has a local sales tax on top of state tax. All in all, horrible experience.
But when I made the payment (tax I assume), I still don’t get why it wouldn’t take Apple Pay, and he had to manually enter all the info. He couldn’t even insert the chip card.

Yeah for some reason the Apple Card won’t work when doing iPhone Payments or iPhone Upgrade Program (both thru Citizens Bank). Not sure why, but it is weird. Numbers have to be entered manually.

When doing either financing transaction through Apple, you can’t do Apple Pay and never could. Has something to do with the recurring payment since Apple Pay generates a random number every time. Same thing when doing monthly AppleCare at an Apple Store. You have to insert the card, can’t do Apple Pay.

That’s weird that the other iPhone Upgrade Program wouldn’t go through after the return. He should’ve done the new transaction first and then did the return.

I love it, very happy with it. I already use Apple Pay for most of my purchases so the Card has slid in quite smoothly.

That’s what the general manager said once he got involved. It was a four hour ordeal... with me entering the store with a phone and leaving with no phone. At one point I was even willing to just buy the phone outright... and they had one sitting new on box in front of me... but they couldn’t give me the veterans price in store. Have to place order online. And even though hey had some stock in store, the website didn’t reflect this.

There’s no reason to close an account that doesn’t have an annual fee. It will hurt your score.

If they use a weighted average age of credit cards, I suppose if the card or cards he wants to cancel he's had for the shortest time, it may raise his remaining weighted average and help. But it could increase his utilization percentage if he has balances on remaining. So better to keep I would tend to agree.

Damn I feel your pain. Yeah when the inventory is very low in the store, the website just says out of stock.

Like Apple, Goldman Sachs won’t say how many actually have been issued the Apple CC. What does successful mean without actual number to gauge or compare?
I know, we want cold hard numbers. Companies should give it to us straight. Take a cue from Tegridy Farms.

It was a rough experience, but it really helped that every single employee was super friendly and trying their hardest to figure out a solution.

Apple is the only company in the world that can make a piece of titanium cool & desirable. Excellent work Apple.

It's definitely the only card my entire life that people have stared at extra long and commented how cool it looks. One guy even though it was a corporate account card and asked if I was Apple corporate employee.

I really, really like the reporting tools in wallet that make it easy to see where I’m spending money. I have looked at third party alternatives to this, but I don’t like the privacy/security issues. I didn’t realize how nice it is to have instant access to my monthly spending record.

I assumed trading older cards for a new would decrease the average age but of course you’re right - dumping 3 newish cards for 1 new one would help.

We re-fied our mortgage at 3.5% to pay off business losses that sat on our personal credit cards. It improved our utilization enough that out score went from 750 to 840.

This sounds painstakingly familiar. Give up? Notice how every year during the Apple keynote the introduce the new iPhone or iPad being released as the most amazing iPhone or iPad yet. That never set well with me. Why?
Because it is a given expectation that a newer model being released with the new were version of the Apple processor wilBecause it is a given expectation that a newer model being released with the new were version of the Apple processor BETTER DAMN WELL BE BETTER And whatever model it is replacing.

So...basically those statements are true every year then?
