I will keep these warehouse deals in mind when it comes time for replacement. My current MBP was a pretty good deal, Black Friday weekend in 2010, for my 2010 15" base model for $1,675. This year Amazon had a even better BF deal of $1,599 on the 15" base - that deal went into effect two days after Black Friday (Sunday) for 24 hours. Good deals but only for a short window at a certain time of year unlike this warehouse deal.

Now just get some RAM upgrades and you are really set.

If anyone is a photographer I can recommend Cameta Camera on ebay which are official nikon resellers. I purchased a demo lens and a Nikon D300 body from them and saved hundreds - both were like new.

Good luck with your new computer and thanks for letting us know about this way of purchasing - much better than buying a refurb direct from Apple since the tax kills part of the savings.

Called Apple again and they changed purchase date - person I talked with on Wednesday dropped the ball. Glad to get my purchase date changed :)

OK folks so whats the conclusion: Good deal, OK deal, bad deal...? Looks like roughly a savings of $300 to $500 depending on model and in some cases the only difference is a newer faster chip 2.4 vs 2.2 ...

AMAZING DEAL - paid 1340 shipped for a MBP that originally was 2199 - Even though it is the previous model the difference between the early and late MBP is so small. It is basically a brand new MBP for a steal of a price.

If your machine is not in perfect condition you can return with no restocking fee and they pay return shipping if it is there error. The sell the items "Like New" which means it is cosmetically in PERFECT condition. Therefore an small mark/blemish/dent/scratch would make it not "Like New" which would qualify you to return without paying shipping.

MacMall sells my machine currently 1695 - Apple refurbished of mine is 1659 + tax

awesome - thanks I'm kicking the can down the road right now ... I will post up on what I end up doing

Awesome! Glad to hear you got it sorted.

Fantastic deal. Buying from amazon means no tax, it looks brand new, full warranty, and this particular model offers a 1GB video card and a 750GB hard drive, which the new base models do not (512MB and 500GB). All you lose is a paltry .2Ghz, but you save $300+. Even refurbished, this model costs $300 more, and that's without tax. Seriously one of the best deals I've ever snagged on a MacBook Pro.

I've been wondering this as well. I have been looking for warehouse deals for the last week or so. Is there a trick to finding the great deals?

I purchased one on Dec 30th 2011 - the pricer went up on Jan 2 - $300 and has not moved.

I check Amazon Warehouse several times a day. If you go directly to Amazon Warehouse and look through there selection you will not see all the Amazon Warehouse deals.

For example:

This Amazon Warehouse MBP http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B0017HSZWK/ref=dp_olp_used?ie=UTF8&condition=used does not show up if you search the Amazon Warehouse site - However if you search Amazon and find this MBP under "used" it shows up as from Amazon Warehouse. So dont just search the Amazon Warehouse - find the MBP your interest in on the Amazon site - check the "used" to see if Amazon Warehouse has it.

Any other questions?

Congrats everyone for snagging such great deals!

It looks like the Feb 2011 base 17" MBP (MC725LL/A) is going for $1800 through Warehouse Deals right now. A week ago, it was $1900. Pretty good deal considering the same model refurb goes for $1949+tax through Apple. Not as great as some of the deals people have found on this thread, but maybe it'll drop more in the future. Something to keep an eye on.

My only problem is that I prefer the anti-glare displays, but those aren't stocked by Amazon or Warehouse Deals :(

What he said - I think it's awesome over $500 off retail price of a new version. If it doesn't meet EVERY expectation I will send it back. It would have cost me another $140 in tax alone.

Excellent information! Thank you!

My Amazon tip of the day is that anything that I want, but want a better price on I put in my cart, then "save for later". Each time you open your cart on the web or mobile app on iPhone you get prompted for any price changes. I've now done this will all of the mac configs that I'm interested in from amazon warehouse too!

A $300 price savings! That is definitely worth checking back a couple times per day. :D

I called apple care and they told me the unit was purchased in August of 2011 and that I still had coverage and they would not move the date to when I purchased it from Amazon so that really sucks...

Also, I did what you said above and when I get to that screen there is NO battery COUNT under the power heading. Also, I didn't get Ilife and I don't have a clue how to get that seeing as I have NO LUCK with anything else???

OK I see something that says cycle count I'm guessing that's what you mean and the number is 6 is that good and what does that mean...? Sorry for my ignorance this is my first Apple I also bought an Imac for my office so I'm going through some serious learning curves here, please bear with me...thx...

Call Apple again - and again - and again - they will move it. Several of us have done it.

This Mac is virtually brand new not a mark on it. So much so I called Amazon and got the skinny on it, someone bought it and after using it for less than a month returned it inside the return window for a 15 inch didn't like the 17 inch screen.

Hit or miss on these things ...

The MBP has been used off the charger for a total of 6 full charging cycles. 6 is AMAZING - LIKE NEW

The total time the MBP has been used off the adapter equals to 6 full depletions of the battery.

Okay so I called Amazon and complained about the missing iLife software. The guy gave me $50 credit and another $50 for the *trouble*.

So, now the MBP has cost me $667 :D [including $30 for overnight shipping because I couldn't wait :p Else, it would've been $637]

Next project: Getting the warranty moved over!!
