Oh, well, I don't think I'll be bothering then. Sorry Fox.

Just cut them a bigger cheque .

well, i think actors are vastly overpaid for what they do. and i think it's sad that people are willing to throw their hard earned cash on actors who make millions but then the same people complain that healthcare is too expensive and dr.'s make too much money. [sorry for the rant]

anyway, i have reduced my music and movie consumption by 95% and it will stay this way till salaries in the entire media business come down a lot.

sad for futurama though.:(

That's not really very much, relatively speaking. The Simpsons voice actors get somewhere around $400,000 per episode, last I heard.

The Simpsons is also on network television with a much larger audience and much larger ratings. $75,000 an episode on cable for a show that had marginal ratings on Fox is unreasonable. The showrunners and writers are the talent here, not the voice actors.

Absolutely, but they're all part of what makes the personality of Futurama. The delivery of the voices alone can make me laugh (especially Zoidberg and Zap).

But who's that woman who does every other female voice on the show and the Simpsons? Really not a fan of that voice.

Who cares

The voice actors were good but hardly irreplaceable. The thing people are forgetting is that there are so many talented voice actors out there that can make themselves sound almost exactly like the current actors, it will be unrecognizable if you didn't already know.

$75,000 an episode is ridiculous for voice acting, hell I'd do it for free if they let me.

I don't think this is greed so much as it is taking a major pay cut with any other job, no one likes it. So you can either quit and get replaced or stay on and see where it goes.

I would much rather have different actors then lose the show all together. Thanks for not just scrapping it Comedy Central.

Haven't some of the voice actors in the Simpsons been replaced? The main Disney characters have for sure been replaced. I really don't think the voice actor replacement is a big deal. Odds are if nobody told you, you probably wouldn't have noticed.

I'm guessing it's gonna return, because otherwise it's just a public display to piss people off. I don't think they'd do it live like that unless they were going to return it. Yet, it is Fox so anything could happen.

Of course they're bringing it back though the program was printed before the possible issue with the original cast coming back. Though you're right it is Fox.

I meant the original cast, but yeah. There's no way they would pull this without the original cast returning, is what i meant.

Had a bunch of Facebook updates telling me this, it's all so very good! Roll on Futurama!

I was at that panel. None of the cast members showed up, only writers.

Matt Groening issued a statement that he hoped that the network and the cast could come to an agreement but he wouldn't take any questions about the issue. The whole event was a bit depressing but they made the best of it, talking about upcoming episodes.

Not surprising of the outcome. They were just doing the exact same thing the Simpsons cast did a couple of years back.

It's great news, but I hope they can re-capture the quality of the original series. I found the DVD feature length episodic content to be very sub-par compared to the actual 4 series before-hand. Lacking most of the wit, intellect and tone.

I think the problem with the 'films' was the length. They were too long, and even though they were originally planned to be serialised they were supposed to have self-contained sections. But they didn't.

22 mins is all an episode of Futurama needs to last for. Or maybe a 44 minute 2 parter.
