More "on topic"...
I agree yet disagree with you. The consumers generate the demands and so the producers supply the products. Most of the cases, producers "Companies" advertise their policies and do succeed in the competition among other superb companies out there. Yes, sadly our society has become this way only to survive. It is human nature to take advantages over each other. I am not saying it is right to do it but the choices are given by the companies and our morals can only make the difference when it comes down to make the decision.

If I was you, I'd wait another week or two with any Touch purchase. History would seem to indicate either bigger capacity or price drop should be coming soon.
Given Apple update the product line in September, Feb/March is a good time to do a "mid-cycle" refresh without those who immediately bought the last full update feeling too ripped off.
Aren't new large capacity Flash chips running late so maybe that's why they are hanging off a bit this year. Or maybe they're costing more than Apple was hoping.
If you look at the prices we are paying compared to regular USB flash drives, there seems to be a fair difference that could (should) be addressed.
In Australia, an 8g nano costs $199 and a 16g nano is $279. AUD$80 for 8 gig of extra room is more than retail prices of USB flash keys. You can pick up a 32gig key for $100 if you look around. Packaged, retail, consumer product. Think what a company like Apple who lock in supplies months ahead are buying these chips for...
If 32gig chips are now available, surely 32 gig nano and 64 gig Touches can't be far off. The only reason would be high costs and maybe the need to keep something up their sleeve for September.
I doubt we'll see a nano update (the 16 gig ones took too long to get here in quantity - and we had 4gig ones which Apple obviously had ready and willing to sell until Microsoft updated their Zune models the day before).
If they release a 64 gig model it will be expensive. And drop in price in September. Given the economy, I'd expect a slight price correction to be closer to the competition or to reduce the profitability of the competition.
Maybe they'll get rid of the 8g model (although it's a great intro item for App Store and Gamers). Maybe just make it cheaper. The 8 gig of memory in it can't really be costing that much these days. Doubling that can't possibly cost much more - possibly less given the rapid fall in flash prices over the last 6 months. Perhaps the 16 gig model will drop to the price of a current 8 gig one.
I'd be trying to get more of the capacity people onto this machine (since the AppStore makes money and keeps developers loyal to the platform with all the new "touch" phones popping up each day).
If 64 gig can't be done yet, maybe 48 gig keeps people happy for a while...
Interesting times...
