Hidden iCloud sync directories

iCloud documents are sync'd to your mac at ~Library/Mobile Documents/

(Yes, they've made getting to ~Library hidden… just Click the "Go" menu in Finder and then hold down Option to make Library appear in the drop-down)

Inside ~Library/Mobile Documents/ you'll find folders with funny names, but it's clear what they are because aside from the gobbledygook, they also include the name of the app that created them.

Open the one for GoodReader, and you'll find a folder called "Documents" that contains all your docs from GoodReader.

I've linked this directory to somewhere convenient. (right-Click or Option-Click the directory, and "Make Alias", then wrap the resulting "Documents Alias" to where you want it. )

I haven't fully tested the reliability of moving files back and forth, but in my quick check it seemed to do the job fine. Also usable is the "sync" feature for documents when using "Connect to Servers" in GoodReader. I'm using Dropbox that way and it seems to work — although I haven't done a complete test.

I hope that helps! I'd love to hear any experiences with all this.

Just installed the Goodreader update. Now there's an iCloud folder. But, OK. And? What can we do with this? I'm assuming if we put docs in this folder on our iPads, we can then see the docs on our iPhones. But, the problem is that we can't make changes to docs within Goodreader itself (other than PDF annotations), so what's the point of iCloud integration? Anyone care to weigh in?

Also bougth Goodreader bit there's no iCloud folder. How do I do?
