If you get the "account verification failed" message and are using @gmail.com address, try @googlemail.com instead. That worked for me.
The sync isn't working, though. The sliders in the settings for sync keep going back to "off".![]()
Not yet, but I it technically should work. I didn't bring my laptop with me today so I can't try it out until I get home.
set it up, was verified, but when i try to access the account on my iphone i get a 'cannot get mail. the connection to the server failed' error. what gives?
Does anyone know if this works with the google applications hosting your own domain? I have google hosting the email from my domain but can't seem to find the right credentials to get the exchange setup.

well my folders and whatnot show up now so that's a step in the right direction. however, when i go to inbox it connects, updates, but no messages appear. may have just taken a bit to sync up?
I'm able to set it up.
1) You need to enable google sync (dashboard/service settings/mobile) from your google apps domain.
2) user id is your full email adress (username@mydomain.com)
Like everyone else already said, Google server is very over-loaded and email retrieval is very slow.
anyone?
Yes. I turned off my normal mail account and left only Exchange running. It's syncing as we speak. Err, type. Post? Whatever.
Push takes a while to get going (their servers are getting slammed), but it seems to work nicely once you can get connected.
Where is said "dashboard"?
Does dashboard = settings?
Its broke. I've talked to a dozen people who've tried setting this up as well as viewed a number of messages on Google's own support forum... indicating the service is currently unstable/broken with users unable to download mail, in some cases unable to even create the account without an authorization failure.
