But they didn't. They already purchased the stock. Big investors, don't "wait", because the price could have also increased in a month and it could have cost more. And if they have confidence in apple and believe there is room for growth, they will make their money back and then some.

BTW, if you do the math, based on a market cap of 347B, the money they lost(100M) amounts to .02%. Mere peanuts for a concern that size.
big investors don't wait? You keep getting funnier. So what made Berkshire "wait" so long to invest in Apple since they don't "wait" as you claim? Why didn't they invest last year, or the year before? or before that?

You're going to find a new definition of what "wait" means now right?

Big investors ALWAYS wait until they deem a stock the best value and the lowest they will be able to obtain it before it starts increasing. Unfortunately $109 was not the best value. $90 was.

As I said you have to ask them. Do you know their investment strategies? Are you plugged into the decision making? Have they offered you a job as their chief investment strategist? I'm guessing not.

I don't know how to say this gently, but you don't know what you are talking about. Nobody can ever pick the exact right time to buy or sell. Some people make lucky guesses, but people who manage billions and billions do extensive research and have multiple research sources and make informed decisions. These people are not day traders and I am led to believe, BH has some type of plan. It's real easy to play monday morning quarterback with someone elses money; which you are very good at.

You have no clue what you are talking about and lack reading comprehension. As I said they wait until THEY DEEM THE STOCK TO BE THE BEST VALUE. (I am hoping all caps and bold will help you to comprehend). So obviously by that statement I know that nobody can pick the exact right time. They have to deem what they think the right time is. Hence they WAIT UNTIL THEY THINK THE TIME IS RIGHT. So your foolish argument that investors don't wait was extremely funny. You even just contradicted yourself saying and I quote "people who manage billions and billions do extensive research and have multiple research sources and make informed decisions." You know what that is called? WAITING ON THE TIME THEY DEEM THE BEST BASED ON THEIR RESEARCH TO INVEST.

I7Guy says investors dont wait.:eek::rolleyes::rolleyes:.

Investor: hmm this firm seems to be a good investment at first glance. Let me do my research and wait for the best time to invest.
I7Guy: Investors dont wait! Lets put billions on the line because their logo is cool!

You are arguing from a position of ignorance as you have no ideas of their decision making process into this purchase. When you understand the companys' rational you will then, and only then be in a position to make a comment on if they made a mistake or they started on a longer objective.

When your company is worth 350b I might take the nonsense you have written thus far as first hand knowledge. Clear enough?

Wise words by I7Guy: "Investors don't wait." "There is a good reason for buying stocks at $109 per share a month before instead of $90 per share."
Whoever is this guy, he is going places. Not wall street but somewhere.

All clear.

Did you not read? Buffet might not have been the one that made the investment or had any knowledge before hand.

If it was in fact buffet, if he was so savvy why not wait a month for the stock to drop $19 more? The investment from 1 month ago has now cost the company over 180 million. I would love to see you lose 180 million in a month and see if you shrug that off as nothing.

Nobody is perfect. But apparently you believe buffet and Apple is.

So the definition for luxury keeps changing? I thought it was something that cost more than normal. Or something that is one of the most expensive in that industry. So if people start buying 1,000 dollar watches, its not luxury because the average man in the street can buy it right?
A $1000 shoes is not luxury because the average man can buy it right?
Are you just arguing for the sake of it. Leave it son, know your place.

With the internet no need to commute.

What is your strategy, buy high, sell low?

My place where logical thinking people exist. I know I should stay there.
No you are arguing because you have no experience in this area as to how big money managers sometimes work.

With that lack of perspective you believe others done know what they are discussing.

IOW: don't blame the messenger.

Nope, I usually stick to shorting stocks and no I didn't short Apple, although I wish I did.

Nope, you just endlessly argue for the sake of it, change view points, then argue again if the wording used is 1 % different. Are you bored my friend?
Then if I ask where I changed view points you would be left speechless. Unlike you who keep changing their definition for the phrase luxury items. 5 different definitions and counting.

Yes you buy your stocks at 109 instead of 90 a month after. Investors don't wait.

Maybe, but my winning strategy is buy and always sell higher.

Okay so let's pretend you bought in at 109. Let's see how long it takes for you to make a profit. While my strategy of shorting stock I would have made 19 dollars per stock already.

I intend to acquire at least 20,000,000 more shares over the next year and add them into my long term portfolio. Tell me exactly the days I should buy on.

I don't buy this explanation for a second. Apple can separate the NFC functionality from the touch security.

If you have to ask this question then I furthermore doubt the validity of your reply. Sorry!

The NFC range is of course is limited - NFC stands for *Near* Field Communication.

NFC is used for more than just audio. NFC in other devices is used for data transfer, connectivity ( faster / easier WIFI or Bluetooth connections for example ) , and of course, mobile payments...

You clearly aren't understanding what I'm saying. The NFC antenna is hardwired directly to the secure enclave. Put two and two together here....

Secondly, NFC is completely irrelevant with technologies like iCloud and Airdrop. I'm not going to disclose my career but trust me that it really does mean something when I say that no one had ever approached me about NFC connectivity and any electronic device for reasons other than electronic payment. Nobody uses it! If you do, you are in an almost nonexistent minority....
