Nice hardware, shame about the software. I suppose you get what you pay for. Or as my dad used to say "there's no such thing as free. If it is free you are paying some way you haven't figured out yet".
Of course, the mobile industry will follow Apple. Can't wait when everyone is doing on-device scanning! /sHard to argue with that if you were looking for an Android phone.
I’m more interested to read what the Fandroid excuses will be for the lack of charger…
The 5a will have 3 years of system updates... half as many as the SE.5G, 6,3" display, dual camera... No way I would choose the SE over this.
I agree, yet a lot of them will complain when they cannot get this or that amazing new feature in a future system update and cry "programmed obsolescence"…99% of normal people phone buyers have no idea what any of the chip specs mean at all; or even what it is called. They could care about what size your member is here boasting about having the best chip today like some dumb tech nerd who spent 2-3 times that on a phone to open apps 1/2 second faster.
They want to spend the least money they can on something that works right now today and runs smooth.
Many people overlook this! They also try to say oh it’s fine you can get another Android OS like LineageOS, etc. nothing comes close to the OS support of iOS and Apple devices. The 5a will have 3 years of system updates... half as many as the SE.
I'll do you one better: Apple does it and it's a Congressional hearing and multiple state AGs investigation. Google does it, and no one bats an eye.Waiting for all the folks here on MacRumors who expressed outrage over Apple leaving out the charger, to show similar wailing and gnashing of teeth over Google's decision to do the same thing.
I bought a Pixel 4a about a month ago when my iPhone X died. So far I'm liking it pretty be good. This is my first Android phone after 13 years of iPhones.I could save myself a lot of money if I could stomach Android. Or something as small and dated looking as the SE.
If there were a way to get an Android, easily lock it down so Google isn’t devouring my personal info, and transfer from iPhone, I’d actually be interested in this. Unfortunately I’m not at a point in my life where I can spend an entire day (or three) configuring a phone.
Also a inferior chip. 🤦♂️The 5a will have 3 years of system updates... half as many as the SE.
And a proper processor.Nice hardware, just needs Face ID and iOS and it would be perfect.
The pixel 5 is $999 in Aus 😬 can get a iPhone 12 for a $100 more, which destroys it in every department.I'm surprised it's 450$ in the first place, considering you're the product when you buy a phone like that.
Lack of a charger is a good thing. Question is, are you paying less given the hardware omission?Seems to have become standard practice for companies to let Apple make unpopular choices, take the heat and hate for it, and when things cool down make the same choice themselves.
Not me. They've done it I suspect so that they can;Waiting for all the folks here on MacRumors who expressed outrage over Apple leaving out the charger, to show similar wailing and gnashing of teeth over Google's decision to do the same thing.
Can you just explain how exactly it looks that way please? To me it looks cheap and boring. I guess that's what Google was aiming for though right? I can think of far more exciting options for the same price. Perhaps I've been using iPhones for too long?
environmentHard to argue with that if you were looking for an Android phone.

It kind of make sense, I have a box of USB chargers from various devices. Mainly, because i upgraded a lot of my household dual sockets to include USB capability.Seems to have become standard practice for companies to let Apple make unpopular choices, take the heat and hate for it, and when things cool down make the same choice themselves.
