I dont think they understand what deeply engage means

Just kidding theyre actually just bald faced liars

Remember Coles Notes for books and Shakespeare plays? Welcome to the modern version of it. Only good luck getting the exact precise summary.

It seem strange that you are implying that you would never use/trust Google.
And yet Apple chooses to make Google's search engine the default on iPhones and other Apple devices.
Not as strange that you are implying that it’s somehow this posters fault that Apple chooses to use Google (by far the most popular search engine) as a default, while also apparently missing the fact that it’s by no means the only search engine you can use on an Apple device.

What a way to turn a completely unrelated comment in to some Apple slander. Bravo.

Google Chrome for iOS Can Now Use AI to Summarize Articles Gather Your Personal Information to Sell.

AI isn't perfect but neither are humans. most people these days just read the title of the article and take it as fact without any context or evidence to support that title

People that get their news from Social Media, sure. Not everyone does.

Cant wait for the article to say one thing and the AI to say another and everyone pretending like AI is capable of contextualizing articles in an unbiased way. AI will do whatever its told to do by its author/owner.

And you trust Apple? Just a question, not an attack
Not completely, but I do more than Google.
Of course I'm not that naive to actually believe apple's tech is 100% private and no data is harvested.
I just prefer to have apple handling my data than google.
Also I don't really like google as a company for various reasons.
The only google products I use are Youtube and Gmail.

But remember, this is all done on server side AI, and so you know how Google handles the data. 😉

(This is why Apple is hesitant on expanding the Siri’s AI further at this time. They want this on machine side, not server side, due to Apple’s huge stance on privacy. Also, simply put, the neural engine on current Apple Silicon is not powerful enough to output AI data the way ChatGPT and other server side AI can do. It’s going to take another few years of die shrink and stuff to finally make super powerful neural engine built into Apple Silicon to make this work.
ChatGPT 4 will have ~176 trillion parameters. Even ChatGPT 3.5 had billions of parameters. Can't see it, or algorithms like it, being managed on mobile devices, but perhaps there will be a breakthrough.

After seeing what happened to lawyers using AI - I think I’ll read the articles myself.

AI summarized articles of articles written by AI. So much of the top hits on Google these days are just AI or copy-and-pasted information. We are moving into an era where it will be very difficult to tell what is real, what is written by a real person and terrible social issues will arise because of this breakdown in human communication.

And students. I teach at a University and already have encountered ChatGPT-generated crap in student assignments. We tried an experiment with our staff. For ChatGPT 3.5, each of our staff were able to distinguish 70-90% of the ChatGPT-generated text paragraphs from actual student writing. Suffice it to say that ChatGPT suffers from fabrication of information and sources, and suffers from vacuous verbal diarrhoea that would put the gobbledygook of even the most contorted EULA's to shame.

If I'm a creator, I won't be happy about this. Yes there can be fillers in articles but I don't want some algo to display another version to the viewers. What's next? Will YouTube music start to summarize songs to listeners?

That’s what Apple’s hoping to do with their neural engine on Apple Silicon. It will take a huge breakthrough to get it working but from industrial rumor mill, that’s what Apple is working on as privacy focused company.
