By now you should have had an opportunity to discover that you are wrong and I was correct. As you'll see in the "News" section it was a Google back-end issue, fixed yesterday. Instead of whining about it, I got in touch with Google and offered input just as I've been working with MS for bugs for 15-odd years. This bug didn't "start" with iOS 8 - I'd been beta testing iOS 8 since WWDC, and this "issue" started before iOS 8 was available for public consumption and it shows up on Android devices as well (lots of posts on Android Central...). Google's back-end has other issues for years - just look up Google's DST "bug" that was flagged as their highest-priority - in 2012, and it's still open, and significant another one (medium priority) was initiated in 2009, and it's still open - two significant reasons I gave up on Google Apps.I've had iPads for years and the issue started with iOS 8. I didn't have an iPhone prior to iOS 8 but I can't comment there. My coworkers with iPhones said it started with iOS 8 as well.
I resent your "kool aid" comment. I'll be a bit more hesitant in offering solutions in this forum. It's just not worth my time offering input that, in essence, get flamed for no frickin' reason or with no basis or substantiation whatsoever - except to whine. I took time to get a resolution, and passed on my results here only to get flamed. Fsck that. I should have reported your post.
Over the weekend, I'd solved the slow OS X interface issue so many have been griping about with a very simple workaround, even on my slow Minis, and your nastyass post has got me convinced that I'll keep it to myself.
