I knew there was a catch. Its for android. No thanks.
I just like being able to stream my music anywhere as long as I have an internet connection. Though I really want to start culling my collection. I have a lot of files I never play.Yeah I only have like 600 songs and it took like 3 days, so I can't even imagine how long it would take for someone who actually utilizes the 20,000 song limit. I do like the Android app, and the whole idea behind it though, and if any product can give iTunes a run for its money (for free haha) it would be Google Music, IMO.

Have you tried going to music.google.com in iOS? Apparently not. And they said they were bringing a native app as well.
Other than the search engine, I haven't seen anything great from Google.

Really- you can go to a friend's house and just access your library from their iTunes. Neat trick - how do you do that?

Why does it have to be on his computer? I have my iPhone with me that I can plug in to his system and play through the headphone jack...
Yet another Service germany won't get (like iTunes in the cloud, itunes Match etc.). Disappointing.

I am so glad I came to MacRumors today for this vital piece of Apple news.
So can I use this like Amazon for buying music?
Can I use my desktop Chrome to go to the store, purchase an MP3 and bring it down into iTunes?

Perhaps you should use Google search engine to look for other great things from Google. How about Android? GMail? Google Docs?
Just go to your Google Music library after purchasing it and you can download the mp3. Or use the media manager to download all your purchases.
Good. With Apple, you pay $25 to have to upload the majority of your music collection. With Google, you pay nothing to have to upload all of your music collection. I guess we'll see which one wins. On the premise that the Android has twice the base of iOS, I'll say Google "wins" this one (while directly earning no money).
I do find it most interesting how Apple had to get in bed and pay the music labels while Google bypassed them and still got their blessing (sans Warner Bros).
That's the problem....I can't purchase it. It keeps asking me over and over to sign in, yet I am signed in.

Well actually I'd rather get lossless, but apart from CDs there's no legal ways to get lossless files. And between music and movies, I already have enough plastic discs.
Google Music only uploaded a small portion of them (about 5%) since it refuses to acknowlege lossless tracks, and nearly my whole library is burnt from CDs into that format.
