It's assuming nothing. it just repeats garbage it has been fed. There is no reasoning. It's like it can't process complex questions. You have to lead it with few more questions/statements for it to get anywhere near a proper answer.

That sounds... very wrong. Are you measuring the outer temperature of the metal? That's useless.

While a Mac mini does have an aluminum enclosure, it does not really do that much as a passive heat sink. There is no vapor chamber taking heat from the CPU to the enclosure. The mini design relies on just being mostly empty to provide good airflow, even when the active fan is not being very active. Your bowl of water is not doing anything meaningful.
