This is totally different from your claim that Google ad revenue has been killed.

Don't use them in NY, Orlando or Los Angeles cause you will have a miserable time with service.

I was just in LA and I averaged 15mb speeds with a high of 50mb. I have family members in NY that have Tmobile and they don't get speeds below 20mb.

As for Orlando, I'm not sure but I imagine that it's a lot better than the last time you tried Tmobile. They've really expanded in the past couple of years.

There is nothing Google does just because it's the right thing to do - they do everything just to mine data on everyone to sell to advertisers. You are the product that they're selling.

Can you explain what data is sold? And no, you're not the product sold, the product sold is ad space. Or you will say that with iAds you're the product sold?

I said it killed the idea which is why they need to focus on directly harvesting from being a wireless company. Read before posting.

The one that has to read before posting is you because nothing has been killed.

Or you'll be able to provide sources to your claims.

Apart of the big assumption that being a MVO is because they will capable of harvest data.

I don't think anyone especially myself who posts here thinks they can run a Fortune 500 company lol. I actually have stock I. AT&T and know the stock price of both. Why are you emphasizing stock price so heavily ?

You're a bit excited about the topic lol and rude

Cause you are suggesting that Apple should do something that would drastically harm their valuation, and public companies tend to care about that.

More like "Google wants to spy your phone calls and SMS on every phone".

Five to ten years from now who knows what apple and or Google will be controlling. My point is with a company this large anything is possible.

So Google is going to be a reseller for the two worst carriers in the U.S. in terms of coverage? Ok... Move along...nothing to see here.

Apple is in the business of making money. Last time I checked AT&T and Verizon make lots of money.

They are already in the industry, you would be lying to yourself if you don't think apple doesn't at least ponder the thought

Apple return on investment is almost double that of ATT. Why would Apple start/buy a mobile provider to get half their current return on investment?

In 5 to 10 year from now with really bad ideas, Apple can be where Blackberry is.

Well, I admit that I'm probably grandfathered to the 6GB, but I could find some better deals at Fido.ca: http://www.fido.ca/web/page/portal/Fido/MonthlyPlans/Group12

Look at the 49$ and 60$ plans. Even the 39$ plan has more data that was mentioned.

So telling someone to shop around when you have a grandfathered plan that is no longer available?

The 49$ plan is really 55$ if you want a half a$$ phone subsidy. If you want an iPhone or other high end phone it will be 80$ for 500MB of data and 105$ for 3 GB.

What an excellent point. Why don't we also start talking about the possibility that Apple decides to buy into some oil pipeline business? Because anything is possible. Apple is not going to become a utility company. Period.

We bought our iPhones outright from Apple. Fido offered us 10% off any plan plus an additional 10% off because there are three of us. The $49 /750MB plan turns into $40.

The real benefit of having bought our phones from Apple is when a better deal comes along we can switch to whatever plan with whatever carrier. It's much cheaper in the long run to buy the phone.

Chill, ciboire... I have been grandfathered for so long that I didn't remember it at first...

We were talking about plans being expensive in Canada and that's what I came up with within a minute of looking.

Serves me right to try to help out... #mysanthropy

I suspect it is also a way for them to collect more information about your telephone calls to tie to your Google ID. Do you really want all information on your telecommunications, internet access, advertising response, and purchases held by one company? Who needs the NSA to collect all that information when you willingly give it to a single company that has to comply with secret-court-order demands for your records?

So does Apple

and who would they sign a deal with? WIND? lol cause I doubt the big 3 would want to give any share over to a MVNO....they haven't done it in the past as all the current MVNO's are owned by the big 3 (Koodo, Virgin, Chatr, Fido, and the dead public mobile and Solo Mobile).

And that of course is the heart of the problem. The big three control the market (they don't collude mind you, their prices just happen to be very similar). Any new provider coming into the market would almost need to build their own network.

Are u retarded or just having a bad day? Apple is in the business im having trouble understanding why u find it soooo shocking they could get into cellular services. lol are they in the oil business ? No

True, but MVNOs aren't really utility companies. They own no assets and make no substantial capital investments, which is what kills your bottom line. Apple Cellular could probably strike a real good deal, in which case it's like printing money because a bunch of marginal revenue would then accrue to Apple rather than to the carriers. If they could earn a 10% gross margin on 10% of iPhone owners cell bills that's a nice chunk of change.

Ok maybe they'll get into chipmaking? Manufacturing Usb cables?

You're just clueless. Drop it.

But combined....?

Gary

It's not like they both have towers where the other does not. Cities and interstates. You would be laying the same maps on top of one another, not filling in gaps.

Also, T-Mobile is GSM based, while Sprint is CDMA based. I think that was a wise mvd for Google that no one is mentioning.

If u wanted a deal you should have got the public mobile 1 GB plan with unlimited talking for 40$. That plan was available up until a week or so ago.

45$ for 750 MB and 750 minutes is pitiful.

It has nothing to do with having a clue. You have no facts nor no inside info as to what Apple or Google will do with their money. All you have is an opinion. And really it's not that good. But ok sir no problems it's dropped
