Dreaming!!!!!

Your all dreaming if you think Apple will let Google GPS navigation on the iPhone happen.
Don't forget that Apple gets 30% commission on all PAID apps and AT&T charges monthly for their GPS app, need I say more on that.
Apple will also claim that it repeats functions already on the iPhone and will also decide for you if you need this free app or not.

But on the other hand I hope I'm wrong but somehow I don't think so.

If apple brings this to the iphone there will be some pissed off people that have already purchased navigation apps. However, the iphone will need this to stay competitive.
Awesome,I think so,thanks google! Apple will give us something better.

Yawn. I never understand what was wrong with reading a map. Nor do I understand why anyone would pay more money for the [iPhone app] or whatever than a dedicated device costs...

At least this is free but really what's the big deal - GPS is a massive battery hog and it just sucks the life out of your phone.

If this is the main new feature in Android 2, I'll go back to sleep.

Hrm... pull out large paper map and search for where you are on it then look where you need to go... (probably have to pull over to do this safely)

or...

have some navigator tell you the directions as they come up so you dn't need to memorize the directions or try to look them up if you forget.

Or even at least have the map immediately show where you are and highlight your route for you so you don't have to take time searching around (and if you have a good phone holder for hte car probably can do so without pulling over cause it's held for easy display.

Yeah, even if you can read a map, GPS makes things a lot quicker and easier. I can very easily see why all the "hype". I can't understand why you can't see why people (even those who have no issue reading a map) would want this.
