If this is real then I feel embarrassed for Google!
I feel like I can finally join in on the bashing at this site. This is THE STUPIDEST computer Ive seen released in my life I think. I have to think they have something coming for it to have it make even a little sense.
$1300
5 hours battery
No real OS
No USB 3
32GB storage
Web isnt made for high density displays
Knockoff design
Knockoff marketing
No way to put the Core i5 power to use
Poor touch performance
Wow, I think small and light laptops are for the week and Feeble, but I would pick an Macbook Air over this pile crap any day, I have to be connected to the Internet to even use my machine? **** you google.
But, if its not secured very well, I might pick one up and hackintosh OSX or Windows 8 onto it![]()
should feel embarrassed for Apple. Their scripted, formulaic hyperbole is a farce unto itself. "Oh it is magical, better than sex , .... must have been created by elves ... defies physics .... " .....
Let's not forget that touching a nice retina display will leave fingerprints all over it.
Come on man, you have got to admit, this Google Chromebook is even worst than the "Brown" Microsoft Zune!

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Only idea that is stupider is Facebook thinking of charging people money to send e-mail to Zuckerburg! LOL!
Maybe someday Chrome OS will really be enough of an operating system to replace Mac OS X or Windows on a productivity machine. But at $1,300, the Chromebook Pixel is just too much machine for the software. If you have the money to spend on the Pixel and you need the kind of hardware it's packing, you have so many other better options.
How am I supposed to use my iPad then?
They also flat-out falsely advertised it; 'highest resolution display in a laptop'. 15" Retina MacBook Pro, anyone? They didn't say something that could be disputed on subjective terms like 'the best user experience', they flat-out lied about an established fact.
Then again this machine is DOA for the masses.
The Surface Pro is a steal compared to this.
Actually from their web page
"... The 12.85 screen has the highest pixel density of any laptop ... "
https://play.google.com/store/devices/details?id=chromebook_pixel_wifi
Pixel --> 239 ppi
15 rMBP --> 220 ppi
13 rMPB --> 227 ppi
In most of the world ... 239 > 227
In shear number of pixels it is going to be tough for a sub 13" display to have more than a 15" display. That is just bigger screen. If look at rMBP 13" you'll see the Pixel has more pixels.
It is, and I think it's kind of a shame. With a proper OS, a larger HDD, and USB3, it would be an excellent machine for the price.
But as it is now? You're paying a lot of money for an internet surfing machine with a retina display. It's not worth it.
Besides the display what make it better than a Lenovo, Sony or Asus Ultrabook?
No, in the video he says, "... the highest resolution." It's simply not. Unless we're defining resolution as PPI, of course...
