I understood/understand they created the search giant google... but they have absolutely done things with absolutely NO true innovation after that, and have just punk'd the average consumer with driven deceptive strategic target marketing that the average joe has not a clue about.

I just know I am not one of them... except for gMail.

I'll still always use Google Maps though... best cartography for past 3-5yrs.

So, you're not "one of them" because you don't use Google search — but you do use Gmail and Google Maps?

That's like an alcoholic saying, "I'm not one of them. I don't drink whiskey, except with water or a beer chaser. And I'll still always drink wine." :D

I wouldn't say alternative.... Google Play isn't even in the same league as iTunes.

And how lazy is Google that they couldn't even do offline play or airplay?

Let's start an Anti-Google campaign and switch our default search engines to Yahoo or Bing.

The more people use alternatives, the better they will get.

I just switched. Feels good!

Lazy?

Is Apple lazy because they don't support chromecast? Why would Google support an Apple protocol?

As for offline play - it's entirely possible they haven't made the rights agreement for that (yet). That's not necc being lazy. Unless you have details we don't.

It will only play in SD on your device? Wtf. That is retarded.
HD wouldn't look any different on an iPhone/iPad anyways so why waste the bandwidth?

I do wonder why Apple allows this... isn't it just adding iTunes competition?
Well, to be fair, Apple is crippling the service a bit with their walled garden approach. So in that sense using iTunes would still make for the easier option for iOS users.

As a blanket statement, I can't agree. We need more players in the market, not the same three players every time.

There are a ton of streaming content companies.

And I think you know that the post I was referring to was just knock on google because it's google.

Is Apple pathetic for trying to go after the online ad market even though iAds has a measly % of the business? No. Don't blame them and there's no reason they SHOULDN'T be in the game.

lol, Google Play is every bit as competent as iTunes in this regard. Also, who is to say they wouldn't like to add those features you're asking about, but Apple isn't allowing them to?

Yeah, the difference is people actually USE Airplay....

Are you honestly suggesting they should turn down any possible competition on Apple devices? I don't know about you but I'm definitely for freedom of choice.

There are many on here that have drunk way too much of the Apple kool-aid. Anything not Apple is bad and inferior.

And people don't use Chromecast? It's pretty obvious you've never used one. I have 3 and for a little over $100 I can say it's one of the better tech purchases I have made. I use one in my home office, one for my daughter so I can keep tabs on what she is streaming, and one I keep in my laptop bag at all times. My sister doesn't have Netflix. When we go to her home, her husband and I are not restricted to the crappy chick flick dvd that my wife will most likely choose. Strap my Chromecast to their 2nd TV, cast from my phone... BAM!! 3 seasons of Archer. Best part it doesn't interfere with other phone functions.

You're not my supervisor!!

The Amazon Video App has been around for a long time and allows Airplay etc. Their content library is at least as large as Google's...

Who said I do/did NOT use google search... of course, I do. C'mon guy... but, yes, they haven't punk'd me per se entirely with many programs/alternatives I use to dish away blocker and google driven targeted ad schemes nonetheless.

Think you're being a lil picky on my words, and than inferred your own interpretation with a portion of my post.

Reread the entire quote I posted... then, you only quoted my post a tid(why?), and went after that on your interpretation, when google search should have rhetorical as to who uses it... like me, you or whoever. You confused yourself...

You're not a troll, so what's up. Any good response to the OP???

Also, do you use any blocker program/apps?

If you did, you would see what Google tries to crawl on many sites you visit... and, then, I would guess you would have tried to shy away from your post.

hmm...I wonder why streaming is limited to WiFi only? The android app allows you to stream anywhere so hopefully they'll update it soon to allow the same.

Why would anyone at all pick this over iTunes?

Oh I don't know....maybe because you can play them on any device in the world with a data connection.

You buy a movie through iTunes you're limited to what you can do. If the laptop doesn't have iTunes installed it'll take for ever to actually start watching the movie. With Play Movies you can start watching instantly. Plus I can play those on any iOS, Android device, Windows 8 laptop/desktop.

Plus now with Chromecast, I can take that anywhere with me and play my movies instantly on any modern TV.

last i saw you couldn't even download Play movies as a file onto a PC like you can with itunes. its all cloud streaming

I use a chromecast and don't have an Apple TV to airplay with.

Same here. I'm not buying ancient hardware(current appleTV), when you know it's going to be out out to pasture within 6 months of the next upgrade.

I enjoyed watching this past football season on my tv, thanks to mobile Sunday ticket and my chomecast.

If it's like just about everything else, it's cheaper. iTunes is a rip off most of the time. Sure it's convenient, but unless I have to have the content at that very moment, I buy elsewhere.

Hell, I don't buy iTunes movies unless I have gift cards burning a hole in my pocket. 2/3 of my collection are Digital Copy redemptions. I still think iTunes is objectively a much better service.

Probably Android users never buy movies so they bring this to iPhone users.

Um. No thanks. Do you work for Microsoft?
