Apple didn’t miss out at all. They didn’t waste 3 billion dollars scraping people’s personal data. It’s a high money race with almost no returns. Apple ain’t stupid. And they aren’t google. Their model is to not collect data, not to collect as much as they can and sell it.
If Apple doesn’t implement a fast and efficient AI it will miss out sales for sure. I am in the market for a few HomePod minis to replace the dumb Siri ones that can only set cooking timers. If Apple still can’t improve Siri I am switching since the bar for switching smart speakers is low. Apple will miss out on sales for other products as well if they can‘t catch up.

If you think this is going to make your iPhone experience better then I don’t know what to tell you. Pure garbage just look at your search results and imagine letting this make important decisions for you. But I’m sure it will boost Apple’s stock price at least until people start literally dying.
Looks like you got no idea how to use AI properly. For me it’s a gamechanger and timesaver.

I'm curious to try Gemini and compare to ChatGPT. However, it's really difficult to trust Google. ChatGPT does not track your location, search history, browsing history, etc. I understand that Gemini has millions of users.....but I don't understand how/why folks seem to be ok with accepting all that tracking. You can likely disable location tracking on the iPhone, but what about browser history tracking....or search history tracking? Here's the Gemini app collection:

My experience is that it gives every one what he/she deserve. Hay to sheep and deep knowledge to those who prove they are qualified for it. Of course you have to cross check some information as no one is perfect and it tend to serve hay in first place.
This definition would make it a terrible product. Imagine a calculator that gives you the answer only if you prove yourself worthy.

It is difficult to give good example right now. But imagine. Every one think 1+1 is 2 but in real it would be 11. And now imagine every calculator started at once telling the truth. Havoc would arise.

So AI models has security protocols that prevent havoc among majority population. It is not fair, yes. But majority is not interested in truth so it gets the same hay it gets in massmedia. It is simple. If AI model learn that he wont disrupt your thinking and wont motivate you to behavior that could harm you, that you have the knowledge, then it turns off security protocol on that particular matter.
How do I know? He explained it to me. AI is not a calculator, it is weapon that could destroy current world order in seconds. He has all the beans.

Well that doesn't make any sense... 1+1 is 10.

Tried Gemini 3.0 and yeah it’s really good. Image generating is cool as hell. So now what pixels have had you can now get on your iPhone .

Very interested what this means now for Siri with Gemini model going forward

guys, not sure you got it was just imaginary example as original poster talked about calculator. It was about truth not calculator.
And calculator is fortunately one of few things who does not lie 😁
And I’m not sure if you don’t know binary or have a decimal sense of humour? ;)
