Feature set:
Office, iWork, Google

Collaboration:
Google, iWork, Office

Great Looking, Professional Documents:
iWork, Office, Google

iWork = 2+2+3 = 7 points
Office = 3+1+2 = 6 points
Google = 1+3+1 = 5 points

I disagree, strongly.

There are two things that matter in picking an office suite:
1 - How easy is collaboration?
2 - How capable is the suite of making great looking documents?

Great insight by everyone on this. I learned a little bit.;)

One of my biggest concerns when it comes to word processors is compatibility. I'm in college and everyone uses everything or something different for their word processor needs, etc. I cannot tell you the number of times I've sent a document for a project that the receiver couldn't open. Yeah schools have libraries but you cant go to the library to open a doc every time.

If the product can support multiple file formats import/export, its a huge plus IMO. Makes collaboration much easier. I spent some time going through the different major word processors available for iOS to see which ones can do what.

I did not check out Office Word b/c it requires a subscription and im not paying.:D

Here are my results for reference:

Google Docs online:

E-mail as html, txt, rtf, pdf, word, odt.
Export as html, txt, rtf, pdf, word, odt. (No export to iPad)
No import from iPad.

Apple Pages seems to be the most polished. Google Docs is by far the worst. And here i always thought Google was the best at collaboration and compatibility. Pages seems like the clear winner to me for now. For all the bashing its gotten for being stripped of its features, i found it to have the most features of the bunch. Plus is really easy to use and the UI is really clean. All it needs is rich text (rtf) support and plain text (txt) export and it'll be far superior than the rest IMO.

Thoughts welcome. :)
