I know you and I have recently had some back and forth, but I want you to know that I respect everyone here and I do prefer to keep things positive. I agree that more enthusiasts care about refresh rate than the average Joe, but I believe everyone with eyes should care about refresh rate. I think more people are coming around to the importance of it. Slowly but surely.
That’s fine. I’m a positive gal.

I used to up until recently sell mobile phones and I can tell you I have never had a customer come into ask me about refresh rates.

I do get
1. Best camera for taking pics
2. Best videos for onlyfans (lol)
3. What’s best for music to which I then introduce them to Apple Music plus apple one.
4. A phone that works well with good headphones to which I point them to iPhones and AirPods.
5. Phones that connect well with tablets or their computer.

Never had I had a person ask me about the screen refresh. Because the average consumer doesn’t care lol.

I know tech well and even i until like a year ago didn’t even know what that was and it still doesn’t really bother me because in the grand scheme it goes t matter.

Especially on a budget or base level iPhone. Nor should it.

Is it less about refresh rate more about how many PWM? As far as I know some Chinese smartphone from Honor or Xiaomi offers more 3800Hz PWM, while iPhone and Pixels are around 300?

Also with that comes the display supporting 1 Hz instead of being stuck at 60 Hz because the refresh rate is variable, which means there are real benefits for the battery that the average user will notice (not that they wouldn’t notice 120 Hz, it’s a big difference and people do care, just not enough to switch platforms because of it and Apple knows that)

You don’t notice difference doesn’t mean someone else won’t. It also doesn’t mean Apple shouldn’t add high refresh rate on baseline iPhone.

Heck even some super cheap Android phone offers 90Hz display.
The average consumer isn’t noticing it because they don’t care.

Should apple add it to the baseline? Sure.

Is it a big deal if they don’t? Not really lol. Because once again only enthusiast care about this.

Y’all are the same people who bash apple for having less ram.

If the OS is running perfectly with less ram ehh does it matter? It certainly does not to the average guest.

And cool. Cheap lagdroids have higher screen refresh rates rhan iPhones. Again that most average ppl don’t care about.

That’s a plus. Except when you realize those same cheap lagdroid phones still lag, are being sold in 2024 with old android versions (why are android 11-12 phones even being sold brand new lmao and they are on 15) and you better hope the phone will get updated.
Even with a lower refresh rate iPhone is stoll
Better than a lagdroid device.
So does iOS lag. What is your point? I haven’t seen noticeable lags or application crashes on Pixel phone for very long time.
My iPhone 11 is running iOS 18 with zero lag lol. And my 15 pro max is running it exceptionally.

My s22 is terrible with android and it does lag and crash because apps on android are inferior.

The pixel I’m having to use for work is terrible lol. So bad I’m paying someone to use it for me so I don’t have to even touch the thing.

Apparently it does. Baseline iPhone 15 doesn’t get Apple Intelligent… because of RAM. Baseline iPhone doesn’t get always on display because of inferior screen.

Name a phone sold in 2024 ships with Android d 11-12? And yes, super cheap Android phones like Moto G will lag, but not Pixel or even mid-tire Android phone.

Also Google and Samsung does offer more than 7 years of support on their phone.

I have zero complains about my Pixel.

The trade in deals on the Google Store are very tempting! 🤔
£392 for my iPhone 13 mini, towards a Pro or £342 towards the standard.
Also pre-order bonus of 256gb for the price of a 128gb model.

Lots of copium from fans in here, Google knocked it out of the park with these phones and even Gurman the apple shill admitting "apple intelligence" is 3 years behind this.

Look forward to sheep like Tubby clown Prosser doing a video on how iPhone 16 is made from the saliva of angels themselves.

Other features include Daily Readiness, Cardio Load, and Target Load, which are similar to capabilities Apple is introducing with watchOS 11.

No. Google has taken over a lot from Garmin here:
- Morning Report
- Training Readiness
etc.

They have actually implemented what I would have expected from Apple with watchOS 11.
see also the reviews by DCRainmaker on Garmin, Google Pixel and Apple watchOS 11.

Apple is now BEHIND Google Pixel in sports features/metrics!
They have some catching up to do with watchOS 12.

Yea sug. What's happened is you bought into the cult of electronics and massive companies. You've mistaken owning a device as a personality trait.

Not anywhere the same.

Why not? Carrying iPhone means I am successful, high income earner and if a business dare to ask my private information, I will shove my iPhone to their ass to make statement that I value my privacy.

Have you not seen the overwhelming evidence that Android users are usually low income? Don't associate me with those group

No. They are not the same. One is made by Apple and one is made by Google. How can they same...

It is like two identical bag, one is made by LV and one is made by WalMart... They are not the same! How dare you insult Apple! I sold my soul to Apple, don't you know? Apple can have all my money. Aren't give a cent to Google

Does anyone know why the Pixel 9 Pro won't be shipped until around 9 September yet the 9 Pro XL will be available from 22 August? I've seen no discussion of that anywhere online.

By the way, there's good reason for the Pixel 9 Pro/XL models to have 16 GB of RAM: it's running Android. Because of the way Android manages RAM (which is far less efficient than how Apple manages RAM), you really do need 16 GB of RAM to supports all its features, especially the Gemini AI functionality.
Sigh.
You really did drink the Apple kool aid to defend why they couldn’t add more memory to their phones.

There is a reason no iPhone below 15pro can run AI locally. Lack of RAM.

And that ram works the same way on Android for LLM models as it does on iPhone.

Apple basically took everyone for fools but got caught with their pants down when they realised this stuff couldn’t run on phones as new as the iPhone 14 Pro for example. Just because they wanted to cash in.

Good luck running the same AI models in 8Gb iPhones that a 16Gb Android could run.

I'm not sure about people saying Apple Intelligence is behind. Apple Intelligence and Gemini, from my understanding, do different things. Am I missing something?

I'm not sure they were caught out... I suspect they simply planned the extremely quick obsolescence due to lack of RAM! Their way of generating a super cycle.

Google sure loves to copy Apple. First with AI chip and now dual Pro screen sizes. What’s next? An extra side button?

For the first time in 10 years of using an iPhone, I wonder if Google Pixel will not be a better solution. I using an iPhone 15 pro max for 9 months. The battery condition is 91%. Laughter. Really Apple…?
That's unlucky. After 10.5 months mine only just dropped to 99%. It was on 100% a couple of days ago after 201 cycles. How many cycles has yours gone through?

Google did a really good job this year with the 9. It helps that they’ve copied Apple’s elegant ID and curved corners so it doesn’t have the ugliness of the Samsung phones.

With Apple it’s never been about comparing spec sheets or feature lists since what matters is the overall ecosystem and experience. But man… 16 Pro is looking outdated already.

You've used the battery almost 50% more than me in less time, which would account for some difference. Maybe try the 80% charging limit option? I always use that function unless I expect to be away from a charger for an extended period, like on a day trip or overnight stay away from home.
