Gemini does work on iOS. Not quite as good as it is on android largely due to the inability to integrate as it is blocked by Apple as a third party app but still a whole world away from Siri.

Now they convinced me. I am buying a Pixel 10 🤦🏼‍♂️ Not.
The interesting thing about the Pixel line IMO is the quiet part Google isn't saying out loud.

I's not about actually selling it let alone making money on it in isolation, but being an example of what vanilla Android and a strong-but-not-best reference implementation can be that isn't just a dev tool/board, and setting the baseline feature/function/pricepoint so manufacturers have market dynamics to know they cannot go _below_. It's an interesting way/alternative to harsher licensing or MAP style pricing control that rarely work (and at Google's scale likely wouldn't pass EU or even US anti trust).

The Pixel is very intentionally not made better than the Samsung, Moto, OnePlus kit and most certainly not made in the volumes to even begin to compete. It also gives carriers something they can heavily discount, not violate the other guys' MAP, and still have margin on and keep Android on the front page/top of offer, etc versus AAPL.

Not saying it's good/effective/bad/ineffective, but it's exactly what the Pixel line is even if Google won't flat out come out and say that.

clearly Google is forgetting history of… Just two years ago?
just saying, every AI company has had to delay things at this point.
Microsoft recall was supposed to launch in June 2024, it’s August 2025 and it still hasn’t quite launched correctly. It launched, just not the way they wanted.

But in those two years where has Siri got to?

Google today used Apple's Siri failure to lure customers to the upcoming Pixel 10 series, sharing an ad that calls out the delayed Apple Intelligence Siri functionality.

With the spot, Google is shaming Apple for the misstep, suggesting Apple users should purchase a Pixel 10 smartphone instead. At WWDC 2024, Apple showed off personalized Siri features powered by Apple Intelligence. When the iPhone 16 models launched, Apple used those Siri features to promote the new smartphones, and listed the Siri functionality as coming soon.

Apple was not able to deliver personalized Siri functionality as planned, and earlier this year said that it would be delayed until 2026. Apple is now on track to release Apple Intelligence Siri in spring 2026, a year after it was supposed to launch. The delay has led to upset customers and even class action lawsuits for false advertising.

Google plans to unveil its new Pixel 10 smartphones later this month.
