That is what electrical tape is for, to help with these undiscovered bugs!... and due to an as yet undiscovered bug, this feature works even when video is disabled!

And annoyingly, due to so many people/companies choosing to use different ones, I have found myself having to have an account on virtually every single blooming one. Including Facebook owned ones. {Shudder}I'm getting app fatigue from all these video apps, and Google itself has several already.
Hangouts, Facetime, Skype, Teams, WebEx, Zoom, Meet, Duo, Facebook, GoToMeeting, when will it end?
Face recognition scanning come free too![]()
Same here. Couple of tips if you haven't already tried them: I did find that using Chrome is better than Safari. Also, downloading the Grid view extension for Chrome makes everyone visible at once.Every time I use Google Meet teaching my online classes, the quality of it stinks compared to other online videoconferencing. This is from my own experiences.
To the extent possible, I avoid downloading apps and creating accounts and instead just use the "join as guest" option via web browser. And annoyingly, due to so many people/companies choosing to use different ones, I have found myself having to have an account on virtually every single blooming one. Command + D is the keyboard shortcut to mute and unmuteCan they make the mute button stop hiding every .025 seconds? so frustrating to have to keep clicking just so I can see it to click it again.
Meet supports grid-view built in, no need for the extension. Try it out, your experience might be a lot better https://gsuiteupdates.googleblog.com/2020/04/see-up-to-16-google-meet-participants.htmlSame here. I just dont trust google........
Facebook is pushing forward with theirs as well. Ya know. I don't want the companies that I trust the least with my privacy leading the way in the video conference front. I'll stick to Zoom, Webex and Bluejeans thank you.
So is "Google Meet" the same thing as Google "Chat"? Hangouts? Allo? Duo??
I used to think like that. Then I found out that with everybody else in virtual meetings, be it Zoom/Skype or whatever, a single hold out pretty much only dies himself a disservice.Using Facetime here but two issues:
Won't make me use a Google solution though.
- Restricted to Apple users
- The bouncing bubbles (speaker image increasing to take more space on the screen) make some people sick
iMessage has become such a strong reason to buy an iPhone, I’m not sure Apple will ever go there.
