In my opinion HTC makes good looking phones like the Droid DNA I wonder why it didn't sell well like the S3?
1080p is diminished and unnecessary on a 5" screen. It's simply spec-pissing overkill.

Also, the DNAs battery life is hilarious.

Get a Note 2 and love life. Hate on it all you want, but I guarantee using it for a few days and you will be hooked.

1. Notification Center is better. Apple copied Android for iOS 5 but it really sucks as they haven't made it more easier to use. Probably because if Apple copied any more of Android's features, Samsung would have more evidence that Apple has been copying the.
-expandable, actionable notifications
-quick toggles
-widgets
-multi-gestures
-swipe to delete

2. Google Now is better. According to newest test, both are equally reliable but Google Now just does way more things and is constantly updated unlike Apple which takes 1 year to announce new features that aren't even new.
-Scan music
-Traffic
-Packages
-Sports
-Movies
-Stocks
-News
-Translation
-Currency
-Public Transit

3. Better camera app
-Photo Sphere (360 Panorama compared to iOS 6's 270)
-More and faster editing options
-Use NFC to wirelessly beam photos and videos to others

4. Better keyboard
-Gesture typing
-better auto correct
-better suggestions

5A. Other features for Jellybean 4.2
-Lock screen widgets
-Multi-user accounts for tablet

5B. Other features for Premium Suite
-Multi-window (improved multitasking)
-Group Cast (share, collaborate, edit documents and presentations over Wi-Fi)

Hopefully Apple adds a couple of these in iOS 7. I mean why wouldn't they?

Maybe because they have patents on them

That is why, Samsung, has been duped. That is why they are Google's bitch. They don't even realize how Google is marginalizing them

Yep, they have been duped. Right about when Samsung's own OS failed miserably, Google gave them an almost completely free OS that Samsung then stuck on their phones. They then sold tens of millions of phones a year and made billions in profits. Yea, they should be really mad at Google right about now.

So how does Samsung feel now. Google has used them, and is about to put them out to pasture. Sucks doesn't it when you don't own your own operating system

What? Android is open. There is a reason why the Galaxy line is head and shoulders above all other Android devices. Making Samsung the most profitable of all Android makers, leaving the rest to barely break even or taking a loss year after year.

I laugh every time when I see someone with a Note put that brick up to their head to take a call. It's like we've gone back in time to people using the original Motorola brick. WTF

If you spent any time at all with that "brick", I seriously doubt you would be laughing. My wife thought it was ridiculous when I bought mine... now she swipes it out of my pocket. The NoteII is nothing short of amazing.

Yeah HTC batteries sucks. 1080p on a small battery WTF are they thinking
And if the note 2 has the design of HTC it would be Awesome!!

Widgets!

Malware!

Device Rooting!

/s

Widgets are running applications that are "stuck" to the desktop. All them widgets actually are running at the same, so the more you have the more are running at once on your device ... which means slower performance overall. I would not say that's point to make Android better.

I would say what makes Android better is
  1. Can run on many devices
  2. Has a non-limiting OS
  3. Very customizable

What makes iOS better.
  1. More secure, in terms of viruses/application data access
  2. Much easier for developer to tailer applications to different screen/processor types
  3. More games available (I am personally not a gamer)

From IGN on iOS; "First: Hardware fragmentation means more choices for consumers, but it's a huge turn-off for developers. Consider what Imangi's Natalia Luckyanova had to say following Temple Run's introduction on Android earlier this year: "99.9% of support emails are complaining their device isn't supported. We currently support 707 devices. Mindblowing."

Second: iOS users have historically been overwhelmingly more likely to pay for apps. Six month ago, a survey found that two thirds of Android users had never spent a cent on apps. More recent data suggests that trend could be shifting, and we're optimistic that the debut of game-specific Android hardware like the Wikipad and Ouya could spur development."

Source: http://uk.ign.com/articles/2012/09/25/ios-6-vs-android-jelly-bean (I am not sure if Jelly Bean is the latest OS, but in terms of them quotes they are not mainly related to the OS itself)

Given that its a 'basic spec' phone, no.

How on earth is the Nexus 4 a "basic spec" smart phone? It's high end in every way and contains hardware features completely lacking from iPhone such as inductive charging and NFC.

To give you a basic idea:

iPhone 5 unlocked: £529
Google Nexus 4 unlocked: £239.

So rather than view this massive price difference as evidence of how over priced iPhone is, you twist it in the face of all the facts available of the hardware specs of both these phones in order to call the Nexus 4 "basic spec"?

Are you serious? Are you getting dizzy from all that spin?

The Achilles heel of HTC phones is their battery life. Plus they suck at marketing.

Have you been in a mall? You have to step around the S3 signs sideways to get in the Telco's stores.

Okay, make me a router, backup hardware, mp3 player, phone, TV box, OS, Image tool, movie tool, and the rest Apple makes, and maybe I will look again at you.

Why does it seem like it's all about the phone and the mp3 player that makes Apple Great?

I am buying this things because it gives me a total package with 1 ID, Support, Style and most important a needles integration of al synchronisation.

No my phone can not bend, and whatever Android can do and an iPhone cant..

The fact Apple gives me a total package of Personal devices, tools and services, makes it Great!

Android Future and Hardware

I've used Android since 2.x on a DroidX, Droid Bionic, Razr and Razr Maxx.
I don't have issues. I also own 4 Macs (macPro, MacBook Pro, MacBook Air and a Mini), 2 iPads and numerous iPods.

So before you call me an Android fanboy.....
I like my Android device. I never wish it was an iPhone. Actually, if it was an iPhone clone, I would not have bought it. I like the 4.3 inch screen, etc....
The ability to tether without hassle.

Sometime the interface even with 4.x is not a smooth as my iPad, but then again I have had to hard reset my iPad in the past. No device is perfect.

Buy the device that fits the use model you have and move on.

My bet is this aggression by Google against Samsung is going to hasten Samsung forking Android into its own OS. This is going to be fun to watch.

I have a Samsung Washer Dryer, TV, DVD player.
Great products.. but the software on the DVD player is the worst anyone could possibly design. They would be stupid to attempt developing their own OS.

Good.

Apple build apple, google build android, Microsoft build Microsoft stuff.

Time for HP, Samsung, dell, and the rest of the scum sucking bottom feeders to go away and let the adults work.

I cant wait till greedy Google and copycat Samsung's relationship turns sour. I'd better be preparing pop-corn from now ;)

1. Why can't you wait.
2. You realize that people can own a lot of Apple tech and still not have an iPhone and have reason to post here, right? You also realize - you don't even need to have any Apple tech to post here. This site isn't just for people who own Apple products. Or do you need that spelled out for you?

You don't download the Exynos processor. Perhaps you'd like to use a better example?

1. As long as you don't go around downloading random files and apps you will be fine. Its like jailbreaking for iOS. Your taking the the risk for going around and trying things out or just being stupid.

2. If you plan on trying to support every single Android device. Devs, don't really do that now and more focus on the big hitters. I know every app supports Galaxy SIII or the Nexus. In some ways Android app UI look better than iOS. One example is Dropbox and Evernote which until recently looked better on Android. Now they both share the same updated UI.

3. iOS does have more games but that's more of an ecosystem compared to software advantage. I could also say Android could have prices set lower than $0.99 but yes, quality of games on App Store is superior compared to Google Play.

then why are you posting a comment that has nothing to do with the article, talking about a phone that you said you'd never buy? Looks to me you're trolling.

Goorola.

Whats the betting it has a crap name though? I hope they drop the 'Nexus' name - it's a bit...well...crap. It's the sort of Xbox name you'd expect a 14 year old kid to use.

As long as its not something like "Motorola Google SMX0395" or some stupid codename type phone.

Edit: I'm betting it'll be called the Google Nexus X, followed by the Nexus X II and X II

Yeah, the Nexus name is ancient history. I think it was first popular with the movie "BladeRunner" in the eighties with Roy Batty the Nexus 6 android. :)

Which gives Apple to use the same UI with a couple of tweaks for 5 years?

We tend to forget that Apple was once ahead of the curve.

Fom 2007-2010, Apple still dominated.

Increasingly faster in 2011-2012, Android has been adding major new features that actually are good.

You know Apple is running out of ideas when they make Facebook integration or FaceTime over 3G a major feature.

Forstall is gone now...will anything change?
