Things are very touch and go with Google sync (Exchange) - while it seems like some is directly related to iOS 4, I can tell you that my Verizon Droid's Gmail is also coming through quite slowly.

And even my iPad running same old OS 3.2 is getting its Gmail (Exchange) quite slowly.

Seems Google is having some Exchange problems over the last 24+ hours.

I have a personal GMail account and a Google Apps account for work, both of which are experiencing problems syncing my mail and calendars. I can see that Google is having some issues after the iOS4 upgrade in their forums. Let's hope it gets fixed soon.

It has to be a Google problem, because my 3GS running OS 3.1.3 just started having problem syncing with the servers. It seems to be a download to the phone only problem, because if I create events on my phone, they sync properly. The problem is that nothing entered online will come down to the phone. I don't get an error or anything and you can see the little wheel spinning, but nothing ever shows up. Weird.

I'm still suffering exactly the same problems as I did when I started the thread. No improvement over here as yet.:(

If I had to guess, it's probably at least in part due to people like me who, prior to iOS4 used the single Exchange account to sync our work email. Now that we've upgraded to iOS4, we're all adding gmail as a second Exchange account at once and swamping them as we all pull down our contacts, calendars and the last X days of email.

this fixed the problem for me

settings - general - reset - reset network settings

dunno why but it's working perfectly after doing that

I just tried this and it seems to have worked!!

Edit: Ok, maybe not entirely, though. Now I don't see my folders :(
