Google Talk Optimized for iPhone

The lack of good IM clients is the the reason i'm no longer excited about the iphone. I havent tried one yet (including apps from the "installler") that can keep you connected for any period of time. So it's highly frustrating for you and the person you're talking to to hold a conversation. If they don't come up with a descent solution i certainly won't be getting the new iphone and i'll be looking for something else in the future. Would be a shame, i love my iphone and its interface but im in contact with people around the world daily via IM and even my old windows mobile phone ruled the iphone for IM'ing (but nothing else).

Works great, but MAN is it a battery hog. Did anybody else notice their phone actually heating up while using it?
