Why are people so self conceited that they believe multi billion dollar corporations care about about what websites you visit besides just pure monetary value? Such paranoid individuals.

For me, I'd just prefer not having people track where I go online, not because I do anything illegal, it's simply the principle of the matter.

Plus, if they do store the information, even just for monetary value (advertising), there is always the chance of a data breach.

That's my take anyway.

But it pretty much happens with most sites and services on the web, so there's not much room to escape that kind of thing anyway, short of truly going hardcore at it (meaning not just not using one or two bigger services, but really doing some anonymizing and proxying and who knows what) or just basically practically not using anything online at all (or even using much services at all, since there's stuff gathered even from phone usage to power usage and all kinds of things).

Lat time I checked Jennifer Lawrence wasn't using google services when her private photos of her in her birth day suit were displayed for the whole world to see. Here is the deal. Google tracking my web browsing history for ad revenue has no negative impact in my life what so ever. Storage of bank card information, identity information, and personal photos over cloud services leaked is what could negatively affect my life. Last time I checked both Apple and Google store this information and I have no reason to believe that Apple protects these types of information better than Google. Google using my web browsing data and reading my email information with algorithms(not a human) actually helps me quite a bit with services such as Google Now and search. So in my eyes, someone opting out of google services for privacy and security reasons is a paranoid individual. And if they are switching to another cloud service such as Apple then they are a paranoid individual that is incompetent and has invalid faith in Apple.

I guess I just value personal privacy and the 4th amendment, so if that makes me paranoid, then I am paranoid. :D

But you are not really "escaping" much by excluding one or two services.

How does illegal search and seizures without a warrant or probable cause from law enforcement for prosecution purposes have anything to so with a tech company tracking your browsing history(through computer algorithms) for monetary value with the consent of the user. I consented to Google using their computers to track my browsing and email history. And yes you are paranoid.

Besides, using logic and reasoning rather than "principles" I would be more worried about personal photos on Apple's cloud. I'm sure Jennifer Lawrence wished she was using Google services by now instead.

If you are fine with Google tracking that information, so be it, but I don't understand why you are taking this so personally? What's the problem with someone migrating to a service that doesn't monetize browsing history and email content?

Why is engaging in a debate on an online forum considered personal?

Because you've brought this thread completely off topic. It was started to get suggestions on alternative services, and you've turned it into a debate.

1. OUTLOOK.COM (microsoft)
2. DailyMotion is supposedly pretty good
3. Apple Maps. Works great for me.

Im wanting to cancel all ties with google period. Im wondering is there anyone here that have done so and what alternatives are you using:
1.email
2.youtube
3.Maps
...my pet peeve is that once on android you reset your device it enables all the tracking non sense by default, just tired of it...

There's no getting around Youtube kiddo. You can try Vimeo, but that app is bizarre.

Why is everyone saying another YouTube doesn't exist!? Vimeo, DailyMotion...

I know they aren't as good but you know...

Vimeo is NOT a YouTube alternative for content, maybe for uploading HD videos but that is it.

It's normally 15GB, but you get bumped to 30 by enabling camera uploading.

If you get MS Office 365, it bumps to 1TB. Quite a deal as it replaces Dropbox and Sugarsync, etc. I grabbed it from Amazon for about $65 a couple months ago. Best part is, you can also use MS Office on your iPad, too.

I rock it old school. Hotmail.com. But, seriously, there's a million gmail alternatives out there. And emails all the same.

The question is "hide from who?" Why would a computer algorithm care you looked up bbw porn?

I like bbw porn. Please don't tell Google!
