Hey, an infographic! I remember seeing those, on digg...before everyone bailed. Or was that Top 10 lists...

That screen shot looks like its from 1995

More like 2000-2005; that brushed metal interface never looked quite right.

Glad someone taught me how to block those ads and track thing, am not seeing any google sh 1.t t y ads at all. Thank God.

I agree with the Judge… people should be told about every bit of tracking on them. I wonder when the states will sue the Federal Government for its tracking citizens without their knowledge?

If the police came to your house every day and photocopied everything "just in case they need it in future", you'd be pretty upset. When they do it electronically, everybody bends over and…

Come on States. Let's see them stand up for their voters!! Or are they too hooked on Federal money that among other things… give every small town a SWAT team?

Whatever, don't care. Sure they shouldn't spy on us, but it really doesn't matter if they get to parse which sites I visit. I'm just waiting for some lawsuit over Google+ secretly invading someone's privacy. I don't even know if it is, but I want Google+ dead regardless so it can stop invading YouTube, Gmail, etc.

P.S. Google's ads don't trouble me. I have AdBlock, ⅓ to block annoyances out, ⅓ to load pages faster, ⅓ for better security. I don't want to visit a page and load all kinds of content from external sites that could be hacked, especially when using Windows. And if malware for Mac ever becomes a valid problem...

I wonder how much Google made with this circumvention vs the $17M settlement.

Why does my state get money, but I don't? Not sure what is worse, Google tricking its end user, or the government for helping itself to a payday at its citizen's expense.

Short Memories

Google will just make another cute web logo and a giant plastic dessert and it'll all be fine.

Wouldn't be such a big issue if Safari had more effective privacy and permission usage. Firefox allows you to see and choose exactly what cookies you receive and it's easy to see with a couple of clicks exactly what information each page stores.

this might explain it ...

Wow, 17million. What a punishment! Ya know, hackers get sent to jail for years when they breach a corporate server. Why does Google get off so easily for hacking millions of personal computers residing in people's homes with their security settings set for privacy?! Let me answer that, they shouldn't.

It is quite egregious but sadly the status quo now b/c G*** is in bed with <g> <v> <t> ... along with many other corporations. Big corporations are just "private" in name only now.

Now, be sure to go out and add to your "bug" collection < oops I mean smartphone / tablets etc. > for Christmas <oops I mean X-MAs>

I mean they really should do us a favor and install shocking devices into our neck when we slip up and say something we shouldn't. Free speech just causes way too many problems right ? Bill of Rights...totally worthless right?
Just give me a "free" smartphone with "free" internet. Where can I sell my eternal soul for a free "iWatch"?

Yeah, this is enough to give a 25 year old incontinence
