I have an upgrade available now, but I don't feel like using it on any of the current phones (currently on 6S Plus).

I was hoping for some more compelling features and hardware from google, particularly in the newest android OS. At least they added the water-resistance. That was the most practical feature that was sorely missing. The deal breaker was ditching the headphone jack though.

Looks like I may as well be waiting around for iPhoneX!

Wow. In one keynote Google has DESTROYED Apple’s product line. Best smartphone, best Bluetooth earphones, best notebook AND tablet, best speakers.

Wow. You can imagine the crying going on at Apple’s supposedly legendary industrial design studio.

No gimmicks like Face ID, 3D Touch, Touch Bar, W1 chip, A11 Bullcrap chip, seamless and continuous industrial design between glass and metal, iWork and iLife bloatware crap, HomePod sound separation crap. Just beautiful technology perfectly married to beautiful design to make objects of modern art.

New Google Pixel 2 is in a new AI phone category above smartphones and dumb phones like Siri based iPhones. The bundle with free Google Home Mini for $849 is a bargain.

The language translation feature with the Buds makes it worth the price.

AI powered Google Home Max just made the Apple HomePod with dumb Siri obsolete.

You have absolutely made no argument at all.

Such a fun event to watch. Really impressive showing today by Google.

I already see a couple of people complaining about the lack of a dual camera? Guys, the camera has a DxOmark rating of 98. Come on now.

The Google Assistant features showed today are insane.

Yup , Plus one on this--naysayers watch out I believe a bunch of folks may jump to Google--save this post and ridicule me--however I may be right !

Google Home Mini will be a great competitor to the Amazon Echo Dot.

For the money, why wouldn't I just buy the real iPhone?
Half of this year, I was on Android because I thought about moving to the other side. I wanted a Pixel but between the prices and scarcity, I went with a $120 phone through my carrier. Pretty good phone but the camera was crap. In June, I weighed my options for a phone with a better camera. I came down to a Pixel (finally in stock) or go back iPhone.

Told a friend what I was thinking, and she told me the exact same thing you did. Few days later, I bought a used 7+ from someone here on MR and I am happy.

You forgot to mention one thing: the /s tag at the end of your rant ;)

iPhone removes headphone jack
"AHAHAHH WTF ARE YOU KIDDING ME?"
Pixel 2 removes headphone jack
"Makes sense"

Airpods 2 $159
"$159?! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA"
Google Pixel Buds $159
"Cool!"

iPhone Rose Gold
"Ugly AF"
Pixel 2 Kinda Blue
"Ohhhh nice!"

You forgot this one :) Remember the noise about the HomePod pricing, and several of us said that factoring in the software integration into a high[er] quality speaker, with adaptive sound, the price [for kind of a new market segment combining "smart" and "audio quality") seem to be on target.

I guess Google agrees. :D

Google Home Max is the "biggest and best sounding" Google Home ever [...] Like Apple's upcoming HomePod, Max features Smart Sound that's able to adapt to the ambient environment in the home, adjusting the sound to its location. It costs $399 and will be available in December. The price point includes 12 months of free YouTube Red service.

Now of course just waiting for the usual suspects to police the thread :D (maybe they'll talk about their CVs ...)

That's fine that you liked Google's keynote, and it was decent. But it seems like you're more angry at Apple the way you're chastising their entire product line and treating it like it's Junk, when its not.

Spoken like somebody that has never used any of the supposed "gimmicks". I can tell you 3D touch is not a gimmick and has streamlined my iOS usage. W1 chip is far from a gimmick. I didn't believe it either til I got airpods but they are downright amazing for what they are.

Care to back any of that up instead of just calling it all a gimmick?
