Yup. That’s pretty much the nail in the coffin for me. Goodbye iPhone.

</hyperbole>

The fact that they don’t even need dual lenses to produce objectively superior shots is embarrassing for Samsung, Tim Cook’s Apple etc.

Wow. In one keynote Google has DESTROYED Apple’s product line. Best smartphone, best Bluetooth earphones, best notebook AND tablet, best speakers.

Wow. You can imagine the crying going on at Apple’s supposedly legendary industrial design studio.

No gimmicks like Face ID, 3D Touch, Touch Bar, W1 chip, A11 Bullcrap chip, seamless and continuous industrial design between glass and metal, iWork and iLife bloatware crap, HomePod sound separation crap. Just beautiful technology perfectly married to beautiful design to make objects of modern art.

When has Google ever had the best of anything. Have you tested some of google's branded actual products....most are hit or miss.

Yeah i'm sure the FBI will be knocking on your door shortly, Mr. Important.

Still feels kinda weird, doesn't it? I mean, I see plenty of people taping their laptop webcams, so even if it would be safe, it just is something some people might have a hard time getting used to.

The Clips camera does however store everything locally, I believe. That's great. (now for camera quality....)

I'm okay with it all...but the one thing that really strikes me is what's with Google's obsession thinking we all talk to our phones with voice search and assistant?

I've rarely used voice features, and I almost never see people talking to their phone publicly. Google should have the data showing that the average consumer doesn't use it nor do they care about it.

iPhone removes headphone jack
"AHAHAHH WTF ARE YOU KIDDING ME?"
Pixel 2 removes headphone jack
"Makes sense"

Airpods 2 $159
"$159?! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA"
Google Pixel Buds $159
"Cool!"

iPhone Rose Gold
"Ugly AF"
Pixel 2 Kinda Blue
"Ohhhh nice!"

This is grading on a curve. Apple is regularly judged by a higher standard than its rivals.

Last Pixel was a sales flop at 1 million sold. Wonder what this one will do for sales, and if Google changes anything this time around (like wider availability).

Seems like a good phone but I’m not crazy about the bezels at all. And the back of the phone is fugly.

I have to imagine that many people mocking the products, pricing, etc in this thread didn't watch the very effective keynote nor do they understand what the devices are capable of. But sure - make the easy jokes.

Google really doesn't offer much value by not including a headphone jack.
I deplore the loss of headphone jacks but at least look at the specs:
  • Wireless HD audio with LDAC, Qualcomm® AptX™ and AptX HD™ audio codecs supported
At least you have lots of options for good quality Bluetooth, and not be forced into buying new "W1" or whatever Apple calls their solution.

If only they weren't such a creepy bunch over there. Isn't this what Dave Eggers literally described in the Circle?

The sales they could have had should go instantly to the LG V30 which may be around less than 1 million as well in the future.

I have no real opinion on the Pixel line of phones, but my god their speakers are ugly. Is it a fabric cover attached to plastic? Going for that 80's computer speaker look..

Exactly. Couldn’t have said it better myself.

They have lost most of their credibility in my eyes. Google had the most boring keynote I have watched all year and some of the presenters had terrible English.

Yeah - and they had women presenting!!!!! Horrible.

Seriously? Everyone spoke english and it was one of their better presentations.

I'd ask you to watch this year's keynote from Google. Much better and in fact I found it a lot more better than Apple's September iPhone keynote which was dry, despite the iPhone X release and Federighi's impression of a chicken.

The products that they've released this year are actually really amazing and products that I would actually want.

This is definitely a keynote to watch imo. Very impressed with Google's lineup of products.

A THOUSAND DOLLAR google computer LOLOLOLOL.

Coming from laptops that can multi-boot Windows, Linux, MacOS, ChromeOS, etc. I'm not 100% convinced being locked into one OS but for what it's worth the Chromebook experience is above all others like with browsing which is super snappy and smooth. Not ready to give up my laptop but if I was choosing between Pixelbook and iPad Pro it's no contest since the Pixelbook is superior and smarter.
