That will happen only when Google starts selling their products in as many markets as Apple.
Oh, and there’s China.
So Google sells more Pixel's in the US than iPhone's?

I don’t think it is a feature I will use that often, where the AirPods are something I use daily, fit comfortably, and something I really like.Would you consider swapping for the Pixel buds for the translation feature?
why do i need to use my airpods? i just say "hey siri say hello in french" and the phone says "hello", in french, out loud on the speaker. why do i need the airpods to do anything? Can the iPhone do real time translation through the AirPods right now?
i think this is why apple works well this concept and google will too.Yes, exactly. Google can keep everyone in their own little "walled garden." Apple's business model clearly works. Why wouldn't Google want to emulate it a little?
take out your phone and say 'say hello in french" - done.Show me how iphone does it.
Google doesn't have to do that, right?take out your phone and say 'say hello in french" - done.
Dual camera is overratedNo dual camera!. The back looks ugly.
yes it does - it needs the phone to do the interpreting and it needs the phones speaker to voice the response. These aren't a star trek com badge that can do the interpreting and voicing - all they're doing is relaying what your voicing to the phone and its doing the interpreting and voicing - same as iphone.Google doesn't have to do that, right?
This is just hyperbole. You're not giving up your privacy, it's not like your email or photos are being published out there or even looked at by anyone. And I mean anyone, not even Google's staff can actually look at your data (sackable offence).Giving up privacy for saving ~10 bucks a month? Not today, not for me.
It works really well for me. I also use Inbox and I get automatic flights/hotel reservations/appointment recognition/etc. All the stuff appears in Google Now too. Highly useful.I have it enabled on all my Android devices I’ve ever used, and please don’t tell me all of them have permission issues (and I can bet I have used more Android devices than most people here, being an Android user since the Nexus One).
I can say Google’s voice recognition is very good, considering I’ve used google voice even before it was bought by google. But in reality, the usefulness is not there. Google assistant cannot even take direction to my friends house no matter how hard I try. But if it’s a commmercial location like a shopping mall or hotel, bam it works instantly. Gee, such selective AI.
I'm not a fan of the notch, but this two tone back that looks like plastic is no bueno.
I don't know anyone that is happy about Google removing the headphone jack. Literally the only reason is to sell their Pixel Buds thats it. Apple's excuse was for battery life + force touch. Google doesn't have the same excuse. Part of the Pixel 1's marketing was that they had a headphone jack. Now they take it away. I think a lot of people are dumbfounded at this move. And no its not for waterproofing either - the Xperia / Galaxy are IP68 while having a headphone jack.
Are you just assuming these things or are you reading this from actual fan pages? Quite a few people
Bummed by the headphone jack and the price points....
Err... No you don't gotcha. I mean disable the personalised ads setting, then enjoy free storage. So be happy I get free storage and not use due to of fear? Gotcha. #FearTheGoog
More like HTC haven’t figured it out yet when Google bought them, so Google is stuck with the old U11 design and tech.Dual camera is overrated
They didn't do that during the presentation.yes it does - it needs the phone to do the interpreting and it needs the phones speaker to voice the response. Check their new smart camera (this article does not have info on it). It automatically selects interesting subjects and takes pictures.
The airpods do real-time language conversation conversion?
Cool!
Two very different product for the same price. Yeah, wire, but the AI tech is beyond innovative.
I like my headphone jack but at least Google's solution is to support AptX, HD-AptX and LDAC on Bluetooth.they're bummed out, but they're not hating on Google for it. they hated on Apple for it.
as for the airpods price:

That is just creepy.
Apple could learn a thing or two about pricing today.

Apple's was to embrace and extend with a new solution which you had to buy anew from them. I'd hate them too.
Nice side step.why do i need to use my airpods? i just say "hey siri say hello in french" and the phone says "hello", in french, out loud on the speaker. why do i need the airpods to do anything?
