Yea...I don't see this iPad version either...

Interestingly enough.. GV Connect just got released as a "native" iPad version of their GV app. Just downloaded it (yes it costs $2.99), and it works like a charm.. Much more full-featured than a Google's app.

Only drawback is that it does't do Push, but if you use Boxcar like I do - you can have it redirect to GV Connect.. So not much of an issue.

Unless Google releases a real iPad app, this one is a keeper:

Sorry for my ignorance, but how do people like Google voice compared to Skype? I've been using Skype quite a while and make international calls (mostly to Japan) often. Is Google voice better than Skype?

google voice isnt a VOIP, its different then skype.

Seriously, how many devices/apps do you people need to make a phone call?

I remember the good old days when all you needed to do was pick up a phone, dial 7-10 digits, and you had made a phone call. All this crap in the name of making it easier adds extra steps to the easiest thing in the world. What is it y'all are smoking?

It's all about flexibility, "what's possible" with the modern mobile devices, etc etc. In "good ole days" - you had no mobile computers, smartphones, Internet.. and you paid $2/minute to AT&T to make a "long distance" phone call to your grandma.. So your point is what exactly?

I lol'd at your post.

Back on track though, you can always call Ma Bell and get ripped off.

The article (and Google's app description) is misleading. Fact is, this is not a iPad universal binary as I first thought it would be. This is simply an app that runs on the iPad. Great job Google.

And as for jailbreaking and hacking the app, that looks horrendous.
