The US is relatively the same as far as NFC usage is concerned as compared to the rest of the world. See the charts I posted earlier for proof of this.

The only thing that your previously posted charts demonstrate is your almost complete lack of understanding of the importance of context in statistics.

Do you have some rebuttal or are you going to continue running around telling everyone how the world uses nfc and the US doesn't and insulting those who prove you wrong?

I get your upset at being called out, but at least try to salvage your failed claim instead of moving goalposts all over the place.

Just compare the two icons.

The Google one is a scribble which vaguely resembles a letter. And there is not even a hint that from all the words starting with the letter 'W', specifically the word 'Wallet' is meant. Both icons use the exact same four colors, but only in the Apple icon the colors represent a stack of cards and tickets for all kinds of different purposes. It's in the best sense skeuomorphic icon design. No wonder no one was using Google Wallet, the icon tells nothing about what you can do with the app.

That may be true for some retailers but I used google wallet ~week before apple pay launched at both Rite Aid and circle K.

I know. I was just pointing out that people believe this is an issue specific to the launch of Apple Pay (it was for Rite Aid and CVS) when in fact it's been an issue since at least March. Very few people were using Google Wallet and few people cared, which is why it received almost no press.

Bring back Forstall ;)

I'm sure if Scott was still working at Apple, you'd get some animation of you swiping the card or something, with maybe the NFC reader on its side to simulate swiping the card. Who knows? Forstall would have made Apple Pay a lot more skeumorphic.
