It doesn't sound like very many people are getting invites. But if there's one floating around out there, I'd be happy to have it. Right after jessica and techfreak85 get theirs, of course. 
Just picked up my invite, but it didn't come attached with any to give out (yet) so I'll pass one along asap.

Wave works well and its nice in real time. But watching other people type in real time is kind of annoying.

Rumor has it that Google is about to give more invites to those who received second hand invites shortly. Just gotta be a little patient as Wave is still in testing.

Well considering that you quoted it there's no chance for them to fix it now. Not that it matters. I am of the opinion that someone who signs up to a website with the single purpose of snagging an invite deserves all the spam they might get.
On a side note (re: other posts) , getting snippy with people won't get you an invite any sooner. I'm still waiting myself but one will come around eventually. It's not a big deal.
