As there is no screen - how will the user know when the camera/mic is being used? Don't worry about your google searches or cross app tracking - these glasses will be scanning everything all the time.

Perv goggles are just creepy. Their function is to evade the social stigma of recording people without consent.

People choose to act differently when someone is shoving a camera in their face. Walk up to anyone with your phone held up recording and you can see their reactions are different.

Tech like this exists to hide the cameras/sensors and deny the other person informed consent. It’s gross.

I think the concept of smart glasses as a whole is dumb, but you can actually make an argument that it’s easier to discreetly record with a phone than glasses. Meta’s glasses flash lights when recording (no way to disable it either). Your phone doesn’t.

And especially with the zoom in some of these phones now, you can easily record someone without them knowing from a far distance. Even remotely, using the Apple Watch. Which is super creepy to think about, no doubt pervs have done that.

A little idiotic imo.

The camera in the earbuds is a better idea. You're not displaying anything so how you get the data isn't important. But this could be really useful. It's just these glasses.... I don't know. If they could make the camera in the buds work, these non-display glasses will be gone until they get a HUD

Glasshole sequel era gonna be as bad as the original.
Yup. Has no one learned that glasses with cameras are socially hated and no amount of “Apple coolness” can make these palatable. Maybe in 20-40 years after people have become accustomed to a lack of privacy, but not today. (And I can imagine the EU outright banning products like these due to privacy reasons.)

I agree, but I will never accept lack of privacy so I will never accept glasses (wearables) with cameras in public.
Also I thought EU wasn't big on privacy?

Couldn’t care less about any of that. I don’t know a single person who enjoys all this AI crap.
Wow really. I've found it incredibly useful in both at my work and personal life. Saved so much time and it can do certain task much better than me. Sometimes it feels like a having a super power.

From the sound of it not a single person here goes to a bar, never drives, doesn't use FaceID, never scanned their prints for TouchID, travelled overseas with a passport, visited the DMV for a license, or bought food at a major grocery store. Smart tech is everywhere if you don't live in the woods, and you wouldn't be on this site. Just deal with it you young folk. Things change. In my day a microwave oven was considered satanic. Do you use one of those?

Meanwhile, my straight up Ketel One with a twist is going down really well. I can't wait to have the Apple Glasses.
