Google's Homepage change: Now you see it, now you don't

Mines been like this for weeks now. At first I thought something had gone wrong but I guess they just decided to add this pointless cosmetic change. I bet whoever came up with this idea got a huge paycheck for coming up with something hugely original (sarcasm).
