At what point can we stop caring what Steve Jobs thought about every single topic under the sun?
Obviously not, but it's still pretty stupid IMO. Android shouldn't be a selling point with appliances.
This comments from Larry Page have me boiling with rage. What planet is he on!?!?!
But it's cute he thinks the war is over. It's not. Us loyal Apple fans will never be satisfied until iOS devices have 100% marketshare. Android needs to be made completely irrelevant. We all hate everything about nasty Android.
Some of his ideas may still be relevant but his stance on Android isn't one of them.
At what point can we stop caring what Steve Jobs thought about every single topic under the sun? I mean sure. the guy was a great businessman and innovator, but he's dead. Some of his ideas may still be relevant but his stance on Android isn't one of them. I don't think Tim Cook or anyone else is going to wage "thermonuclear war" on Android for some foolish reason like continuing Jobs' legacy.
It's really disgusting seeing all this ridiculous obsession with mindless devotion to Apple and irrational hatred on Android. Theyre brands, nothing more.
This emotional businessman saved Apple from bankruptcy and pushed it to become the worlds most valuable company in the world.
I thought Microsoft saved them from bankruptcy.
Larry P is such a s. bag
I'm disgusted by smart kids who think they are the centre of the universe.![]()
I think the book quote where Steve said he would wage thermonuclear war was pretty clear.
Interesting. If Google weren't looking at their competitor (Apple), Android wouldn't exist as it does today...it would be a defunct RIM OS copy.
No, he didn't. He made his feelings quite clear.
Agreed. Jobs believed in principles above profits. Cook will give up and roll over to Android versus spending what it would take to "bury" them.
It doesn't matter. Microsoft will soon dominate the smartphone market. http://www.nytimes.com/2012/04/05/technology/personaltech/lumia-900-a-beautiful-phone-from-nokia-and-microsoft.html?_r=1&ref=technology
I often wonder about that...
You know how secretive Apple is with the public... does that secrecy extend to their Board Members?
Do they get to come down into the secret labs and get their hands on unreleased products?
Lots of Apple's Board Members are from other companies.. not just Eric Schmidt. I'm sure the Board is busy with lots of executive-level stuff... not exactly new products.
Steve knew Google bought Android in 2005... I'm pretty sure Steve never said "Hey Eric... look at this!"
Maybe we'll find out in Schmidt's biography.
Page goes on to claim that he believes companies should not be looking at their competitors and instead should simply be doing their best to improve the world.
Um, actually, he did. He even gave Schmidt a prototype to carry and use.
Microsoft made a $150,000,000 investment... AND... Steve Jobs came back.
Then the opposite of bankruptcy happened under Steve's watch...![]()
He didn't come anywhere near to doing that. Over the time period in question Apple ended up with what 60 or so billion dollars more in the bank. Granted it wasn't his money personally but still.
What exactly have Google stolen. If you say Android you're clearly deluded. Sure, Android borrows ideas from iOS, but iOS borrows ideas from Android. Thats how these things work. If it wasn't how things work then your mac wouldn't have any Windows on it, or icons...or any font other than 'System'.
Steve Jobs was a brilliant taskmaster. His accomplishments are well known & documented.
That said, he did exhibit an extreme level of narcissism. So full of himself his obsession to destroy Android, & many others speaks volumes about his inner conflicts.
Anyone who's read about other brilliant minds, knows these people do have a bizarre side. Steve has been elevated & placed on the highest pedestal in the land, now more than ever.
It's a bit over the top.
Sure Larry, sure...now if you could just lay off that crack pipe of yours...
If SJ were alive he would NEVER consider any kind of settlement with you thieves. Too bad Tim Cook is not as principled.

This is how Apple works. Page learned this from Steve. He should give Steve credit for this.
Took the words right out of my mouth!Yeah Larry, I don't think so...
