I highly doubt people are playing the switcharoo game. But then again, this is the mentality the blinded Apple fans believe in... *Shrugs" Google has been beating Apple in just about every aspect for quite some time now, it's just that some people are so stuck in their ways to see it

Every aspect, huh? Let me know when Google is beating Apple in smartphones, wireless earbuds, smart watches, tablets, music service, App Store and computers... and I’m not just talking about revenue. And BTW, that’s pretty much Apple’s entire core business.

I think only a hardcore Google fan would believe what you wrote. The unbiased folks see it the other way around... Google is simply copying Apple and everyone else with the exception of Waymo and a few outliers. That’s because Google is what’s known in the industry as a fast follower.

Many people forget that Google is an advertising company first and foremost - everything they produce from hardware to software exists to support this. Thus, ads aplenty...

Yeah exactly, I'd never use that app as Google is ranking news stories according to their liking resulting in people getting a twisted news perception. The same applies for Apple News. Multi billion dollar companies have no interest in informing you but to profit off you one way or another. We've seen one of the best examples of that just a few days ago when a one sided bloody massacre was called "clashes" by most media outlets.

I can agree to that but I would hope these news apps learn what you like and then serve more of your interests. Bias is always in play

Lololol you think Google is playing copy cat? You realize they had gestures before Apple? Notifications? Toggles? The list goes on and on. Anyone who is unbiased can see through your post, and will vouch that Apple is always copying and playing catch up to Google and other companies. This post is laughable at best. :D:D:D

Funny I can get Google News on my iPhone but not the News app from Apple. Also No HomePod, no TV app and no Siri Support on Apple TV, no Apple Pay... Maybe I should rethink my relationship with Apple. The world isn’t the US, UK and Australia only...

Exactly , everything is for US ,UK only.I dont get it.

Something to be careful of here: Google is notoriously worse for non-US support. It might not seem that way at a glance, but dig into any pro-Google communities and you'll see the constant outrage. They have many things available in multiple countries that are missing multiple features when outside the US, so it looks better than it is from a far.

I know Google is playing copy cat. Everyone in the industry does except for Google fans it seems. Hence, the reason why the industry considers them a fast follower.

In fact, everything you mentioned was done first by somebody else, and you forget they copied the entire iPhone UX and business model, including the App Store, right down to the revenue split.

Since I can see how much it pains you to read anything negative about Google, I won’t take this any further. However, I will say this... you’ll probably be much happier and live a lot longer if you spent your time on Google fan sites, or better yet, learn to temper your enthusiasm for and attachment to brands... and anything else.

You are one of the most delusional Apple fans here on MacRumors. The fact that someone could even believe that Apple is a leader in tech over Google, is seriously laughable at best. Must not have seen any Google I/O or keep up with reality. If you weren't so stuck in the eco system, you would realize the UI that Apple stole, was from WebOS from MANY years ago. One of the head guys from there, is working at Google now. So there is no copying there, but more so a reintroduction of the idea. Let me guess, Apple stole on screen buttons from Android? Notifications? Dual OIS camera? Quick Charge? Oled? HDR? Augmented Reality? Glass Back? Split Screen? Widgets? I can go on and on if you would like. Seems like the only Follower here are YOU and Apple.
