are you people who email mr jobs really so deluded that you think he cares/reads what you have written to him. i am sure he is a busy man and you sstill think he has the time to sit and read these essay emails you are sending to him. get a grip.

Given the fact that he is responding to them, yes, we are that deluded. Sorry you are feeling so left out.

Anybody who desn't remove that "Sent from my 'xxxxxx'" from their emails is a **** in my book, regardless of the device :)

First, I think Steve Jobs gets an exemption, mainly because he invented the device. ;) Sent from MY iPhone, get it?

Second, the idea of these tags originally was that if you sent someone a really short response to a long email, they wouldn't think you were being short with them, they would understand that you're using a small keyboard and answering on the go. If someone wrote you a long email and you just respond with "Okay", they might get annoyed, but if they see it came from a mobile, they might give you more slack.

Third, I tend to agree with you. It has become more like a bragging point or a status symbol and tends to make you look like a douche anymore.

Yeah, I can really understand Steve's point about holding it wrong. It was never intended to be held that way. I don't know where we ever got the idea to hold it like that...

I don't understand why he's still being misquoted on this. He said, "just avoid holding it in that way." NOT, "you're holding it wrong." He also sent the guy another email explaining why.

Again, it's not suggested to hold it that way *IF* you are having problems. Plenty of people can actually hold it this way.

I blame Engadget and their juvenile snarky commentary on almost everything they write.

You may not like SJ's response, but at least quote him correctly.

I just think it's certain people perceiving it as bragging when it isn't.

For me, it's just an indication that person I'm communicating with is on the go.

MR: "rah! rah! rah! phone is useless, major design flaw!!!!!"

SJ: "we respectfully disagree"

CASE CLOSED.

And to add to that, nothing thats being done in the pics above requires a cellular network. So in the case of the pics and keynote, there was no reason in the world to hold it any differently. Was there?

Ok please look closely at this picture... In one screen they are texting and that is about the only one that actually makes sense in the rest of the pictures it wouldn't matter how you are holding it so please lets get over the "apple is teaching us to hold it wrong" mumbo jumbo

For all of you claiming that the iPhone 4 is unfit for purpose, why in the hell did the FCC approve it as being so??? Anyone care to answer that riddle??

In actual fact even if they were making a call in the above pics, maybe like me, all they would see is the 5 bars reduced to 2 bars. When i tried it the bars would go no lower than 2 and believe me I was using the almighty "DEATH GRIP"

last time I checked, 2 bars were perfectly adequate to make any type of call.

Hm, the one thing they don't show the iPhone 4 doing is making a normal call, while being held that way.

2011 WWDC Keynotes:
Steve: No 1. This is iPhone 4S.
Audience: Wow... ~!~~
Steve: No 2. iPhone 4S can make phone calls.
Audience: Wooooooowww ~~~~!!!!!!!!!!~~~~ wwwhhhhhaaa!! ~~~ OMG~~~
:D

I'm done believing any of these are true. Headers and photo's can be easily faked since one person actually GOT a real answer, it just takes simple text editing of the times/emails and photoshop cropping.

I could post a photo of a friggin' ham sandwich and someone would cry fake. Why does everyone on the stupid internet think they're Columbo? If I had a dollar for every sleuth who said the leaked iphone 4 pics were fake....

Why on earth would the OP bother faking such a banal email response?

I agree, it shows that they either do not care or do not know how to change it. Either way they would be a ****!

Exactly. I questioned whether it was even worth posting, as it is so predictable and fairly boring.

Still, it was cool to get a response, whether it was from Steve himself or an assistant.
