Got my space space grey 8 plus and it’s beautiful
I'm confused as to how a Canadian got their 8 plus before they were even getting dropped in New Zealand!

Do you work at a phone sales store of some kind? The two photo's look like they were taken in the back of a store, were these photo's taken during unpacking for store display models? That would explain how a Canadian got their hands on a copy so early. :)

im tired of seeing 7 owners piss n moan about how the 8 is an incremental upgrade that isnt worth it, when most of them probably had a 6s.

the 8 is no less an upgrade over the 7 as the 7 was over the 6s as the 6s was over 6.

just because the x is available doesnt make the 8 any less of an upgrade over the 7 like any other year's flagship.

the 8 isnt even that old of a design, considering the 4/4s/5/5s were all very similar in design - 5/5s really werent THAT different from 4/4s. really apple is sort of on a 4 year major design overhaul with refinements to the design each year.

Nice!

But too bad it's gonna feel awfully stale and obsolete come Nov 3

Obsolete? Really? The X is a complete redesign, so I don’t think the 8/8+ will become ‘obsolete’, it just won’t be the flagship. Some people are so quick to rubbish the 8/8+. o_O

Me too! Came in first thing Friday morning down in NZ. What a beast this phone is speed-wise. 5 years between upgrades highly recommended for full impact of a new iPhone haha.

What if I told you that neither the 8 nor the X was a worthy upgrade over the 7

so to sum up this topic:

-with the iPhone X you are just a $1000+ testbunny for Apple, using complete new technology and a ''free'' Notch to look at, all day, every day.

-with an iPhone 8 (Plus) you got a well finetuned iPhone with well known technology (for Apple) and about $200 cheaper.

It's just a matter of preference for everybody. Some prefer the iPhone 8 because they're not interested in the iPhone X and vice versa. You have options as a consumer, an Apple has some of the largest iPhone line up options available for everybody. There is no wrong choice what somebody chooses, it's just a matter of what they want from the device.
