I have two iphones in the house and both giving me problems with proximity sensor, it's driving me crazy.

My week 25 (replacement unit for week 23) was near perfect till I updated to 4.0.1!!! Now, I drop calls like crazy and the proximity sensor has also reared it's ugly head!

Not exchanging just yet! Using the 3GS right now. Gonna wait to see what 4.1 brings to the table!

Waiting to be able to use my iphone 4 (while trying to be patient). Until then I'm using my factory unlocked 3Gs. Certainly hope that my iphone 4 doesn't have the proximity sensor problem but I don't have a way to check it.

Got my 32GB today. First impressions: fantastic!

Production is from week 30 but I haven't used it enough yet to report on the proximity sensor.

More later ;)

Had mine for a couple weeks now and pulled out the 3GS to prep for sale (32GB, gettin' $300; that good?) and am blown away by how pixelated the screen looks...

Craziness.

Is your 3GS black or white? If it's white, I might be interested. Looking at getting another one.

Woot got mine too

Reserved it at the apple store on Sunday, 7/25. Email from apple arrived on Wednesday, 7/28. 32 gb unit, and like others said in this post - no proximity sensor issue, came updated with 4.0.1 and no death grip issues. I'm located in the east coast USA.

Upgraded from an iPhone 3 to this one and boy, iPhone 4 is INCREDIBLE. I'm super happy with it. Just need to work w/ AT&T and get my discounts back. :D

Great post, thanks! I think a lot of the people posting over and over about the iPhone's 4 problems are people that don't have them yet (like myself!).

I think as more people start getting their backordered iPhones in, we'll see some more posts like this. Then we can finally get around to talking about what's cool about the iP4, what we can do with them. etc.

Mine should be coming tomorrow. Looking forward to it.

Is yours a week 30 build as well? (fourth & fifth numbers in the serial number).

Hey I got the call from radio shack yesterday to come pick up my 32g iphone 4 :). I have a week 30 build (thanks for telling me where to find it), and I immediately tried to have the death grip problem, nope no problem here and mine also came loaded with 4.0.1. Love it much better than my 3gs :)...Now I hope I didn't screw anything up by restoring my last save (from my 3gs) onto my iphone 4 last night :/...

I would highly suggest you start from scratch. I did the same thing and had horrible battery life, among other problems, until I set up as new.

Any time you get a new device you should never restore from backup (unless it's the same phone)

Thanks this is my 2nd iphone so i wasn't sure, but I will restore to factory settings tonight when I get home. Just restore to factory default will put it back to what it was when I bought it?? Just making sure I do it right. Thanks again for the heads up I noticed the battery was depleting too quickly.

Riddle me this.

I inadvertently backed up my iPod Touch 3G which ended up being a blessing because my iPod Touch 3G actually died due to water damage. The backup is important to me because it has many apps I use for studying including the settings which I definitely need. Is there a way to restore just the apps? How would / could I restore at least the one app with data that I really need?

Build 30 FWIW. My Treo says Sony on the front so suck it!

Great phone. Thanks :apple:

i just walked in yesterday and picked up 2 32gb ones, seems like they're definitely pushing as much as possible so walkins should be able to get theirs by the end of the week if not, then definitely the week after that
