People and their new toys hah!

This is worse than having a pet or taking care of an elder:

"....it's doing this and not doing that, it doesn't really do that with enough speed, it is too fast too slow, it is so hot not cool, why, when, which, how, will it, huh this is NEW???!!!!?............"
"......just well, just click that, reset this, hold down that and stand back, ZAAAAAAP, we are almost there everyone, I need more IV drops for this IVY bridge, just send it back it is NEW and useless, get a NEW one to replace it, miracles do happen, but it is and does?............."

(.........the make-no-sense, no reason for this, drama goes on and on and on for the CONSumers around here.......)

Most of the threads of topics are not even about PROSumer concerns or anything, because we are all producing a lot of work and enjoying this ridiculous drama of CONSumers buying every new toy :apple: pushes out cheaply made in China.

You all get what you paid for, you want the fastest and greatest right when it comes out this is what happens. Anyways I'm fuming mostly about Apple not the individuals.

Your spending power - wasted and forfeited to the brands and their trends.

vpro, did you get what you paid for?

I wish Apple was made in USA, we wouldnt have these problems, im sure

Looking at your video I fail to see whether there's even any real difference from intended behavior or not...... and who actually shuts down their computer anyway? You use a mac, just close the lid.

Depending on what programs are open etc. shutting down may really take its time, though – that's nothing too much out of the ordinary and I wouldn't use that as a tool to determine the state of your computer. In any case, it sounds more like a software issue though, since everything else is running well.

I'd recommend going to a local Apple store and directly compare your machine to another one and then decide whether it's really a problem or just plain imagination or hypersensitivity.

That said, if it's a real problem, considering how much you've paid, I wouldn't be satisfied with anything but a 100%ly perfect product 😉

I did get what I paid for back in 2007 on February 2nd, I made the most perfect purchase of my life when I got the maxed out 17" MacBook PRO.

I am still very happy with it, still very productive and still passionate about 17" MacBook PROS all the way.

Thank you.

Really? I use one right now, as a temporary replacement and I feel how it's breaking my shoulders when I carry it and crushing my legs when resting on my lap. It's super heavy and the screen sucks so much compared to even the most basic LED screens 😀

you have issues then? you need to work out and get buff & strong then.
because i've had none of those issues with using my -
17 inch MacBook PRO

I'm not picky nor interested in expensive trendy thin useless things
I am interested in paying a lot of good hard earned cash
towards a machine that totally meets all my production needs
the 15" retina toy falls way flaccid & short of the task for sure

^_^

You sound like you are looking for an excuse to return your laptop again. I am sure you will find something to complain about with the next one you get.

Good for you! My experience was the same with pre retina MBP. It was flawless and did the job. I hope this new machine, which is way faster and better in any aspect than my previous will work for at least 3-4 years.

But how is it possible that 17' 2007 MBP is better than Retina for you? I really don't get it. Can you explain your theory? There is obviously night and day between these machines. Anything you compare is way better on Retina.

I decided to return computer and not exchange it. The fact that I got two defective computers in a row made me think about it. Lost too much time discovering these problems and trying to resolve it. I just need a computer I can work on, but so far haven't got one. Please :apple: do your job so we can pay you our hard earned cash...

I say that is a wise decision, because you are right, you paid a lot for your chosen tool of productivity. Come over to the :apple:.com community, they have been far more helpful. This is a great entertaining spot for me but so far, only those who do not have any sense of humor have been trolling my posts.

I hope you have great success !

I watched your video and I don't understand what you're trying to show. There is a fade animation effect when you click on the tabs, so you are seeing a fade from the previous tab to the next. Is that what you're talking about? That is an EFFECT, not a flaw. Absolutely insane that people are sitting around obsessing over these things.

If these are the kinds of people that are responsible for Apple's amazing growth, Apple is in big trouble...

I've checked computers at Apple store and yes, they all had fade animation effect like you sad, yes it is normal. I was just concerned about it when I first got the computer, but once I discovered way worse tearing on screen I don't even care about it anymore. I have not put a video of that because I have no doubt that it is not normal, and I don't need to ask anybody about it, it is obvious a faulty device. When you switch between spaces, sometimes old part of old desktop stays like on the half of the screen, and half is new and all is messed up, sometimes up and down different parts until you switch spaces again. And that on both video cards, so it's something else. And while you switching spaces it stutters like nothing else. I'm gonna put that video so people like you would not accuse of being obsessing over things that are "normal".

Apple will never be in trouble.

What?! "These kinds of people"? What kind of person are you then? It isn't obsessing, it is acknowledging and hoping to discuss something, why are people so quick to pass judgment and crucify others online. Sheesh. There are lots of problems with the first generation retina macbooks, that is the truth. Apple.com support community forums are far more constructive and compassionate than this forum.
