Ironic you guys are dogging him about getting a life, when it appears you yourselves need to get one. Seriously, who cares if he skips/skipped class. I skipped sooooooo much class as an undergrad, many times for no good reason at all, and I'm sure everybody here has too.

Also ironic you guys are bashing his grammar when he's clearly said numerous times English is his second language. I guess some of you aren't smart enough to read through the entire thread before posting.

Wow....Was this really new-thread worthy? I'm sorry, but I'm most likely in the same age bracket as you are (4th Year student at SCU) and while I had class up until 1pm (Scheduled delivery was 'before' 10:30am), all I/you had to do was Pre-Sign for the package through Apple or ATT's form.

If you are in a solid school, then it's likely your tuition is pretty expensive which translates to a lot of $$ per hour in class, and every time you ditch class it is costing you money that you won't be getting back.

I can't say that I haven't ditched class for (albeit, some may say stupid) reasons such as traveling, or attending a concert during a night class, or sickness....But to wait for a product that will ultimately be delivered at a later time in the same day? WHY! So you can get it at the absolute time it is delivered, versus the agony of waiting during class to go home and unwrap it? Silly.

Then to make a brand new thread on a public Mac forum expressing your woes that a FedEx truck drove by instead of UPS...If these things truly irk you that much where you feel it is necessary to post on MR (I can understand FB since you can vent as much as you want on your own page), then I think you may have some serious priority issues when you get older.
Yes a college education is expensive, but at the end of the day what your paying for is a degree, not individual hours in class. Once you get out in the business world all any one is going to care about is do you have a degree and what's your major. No one is going to care if you skipped a class or two.

The degree argument is valid, and yes that is an extremely important component of a college education, however in the OP's situation it is a matter of principle. If you were this kid's future employer and he ditched work (I doubt he messaged his teachers beforehand and said he's skipping class, albeit by lying and saying he was sick or telling the truth and saying it's for an iPhone), would you want him doing the same thing because he wanted to stay home and get his phone 2 hours earlier than he would have?

This is the problem of my/this upcoming generation...this inherent laziness and expectations that things will be presented on a silver platter with no repercussions, in school or a professional career.

Skipping class to wait for a phone. You've got a great life ahead of you, boy.
And how many threads here have discussed people taking sick days and time off to wait at home for delivery?

Skipping classes occasionally is not a big deal.

At least it wasn't skipping class to sleep in, as is probably more common. He has a reason.

I really want to judge... and yeah, skipping class for a delivery is stupid - if nothing else it's like watching a pot of water boil.

Alas, I have skipped work for new Halo releases so I can't really judge.
