This thread got me to look at my orig. receipt from launch day -- I was never charged an upgrade fee.... at least not from Apple... Will this appear on my next Verizon bill or something? Do you avoid it by buying thru Apple?

I returned the launch day and bought a new one on Saturday... I was going to argue that point...

It should be on your verizon bill. My bill was available on the Verizon iphone app within a day of buying the phone, you should check there and see. It is lumped in a "vzw fees" line item. Mine was like $80, $70 of which is the activation fee ( for two phones)

Well, I don't get my bill for this period until 10/19. I suppose it will be on there...

Did the Chat at 6:15 this morning, got the activation revoked and have email transcript. We'll see what the bill says next time.

AT&T never charged me activation. I refuse to pay it as a customer as I am performing the activation myself through iTunes.

Had you already placed the order and just got it waived during the chat? And did you place the order via Verizon?
