is it really worth getting Pixelmator especially when I have the macOS version?
but of course it is cheap.

when their marketing spiel goes on about how its optimised for ios 9, you cant help but think this is a last push for sales before they drop pixelmator 2 next month...

I have Pixelmator for macOS as well, I use my iPhone (a 6) as my only camera, and I often find myself shooting an image on my iPhone, then cleaning it up on my iPad, even if I'm sitting next to my Mac - because drawing lines/spots (for the repair tool) on the screen with my finger is, well, downright joyful - so much easier than doing the same operation with a mouse. As well, any photo editing when I'm out and about with just the phone, comes down to the tools built into Apple's Photos app (which are a pretty good start), and Pixelmator, and Layout (from Juicy Bits, not Instagram) for collages. When I hang out with my nieces, I often shoot some pictures to send to a mailing list of relatives. A bit of work with Photos (selecting, cropping and brightening), Pixelmator (any needed cleanup), and Layout (collages), and I can get pretty decent results.

As far a whether it's worth it to have Pixelmator in both places - for me absolutely yes. For you, depends on how you use your phone and/or iPad.

At first I read that as asshopper. o_O
Lol, that sort of thing happens to me all the time on this forum. I blame it on the caffeine not waking me up just yet and on slight astigmatism in one eye. ;)

Thanks y'all on the recommendations. I'm going to go check some of these out for my iPad mini 4.

I wonder if Deliveries sells your delivery information to some 3rd party.
From the Deliveries documentation (junecloud.com/support/deliveries-mac/are-my-passwords-sent-securely.html):

Passwords are sent directly to the delivery company's site over a secure (https) connection, same as when you log in through your web browser. Even your tracking numbers are sent securely whenever possible. Your passwords are stored encrypted in your keychain, in the same way that other passwords are saved. While we can't offer any sort of guarantee, we've done our best to make sure it's secure and safe.

Deliveries periodically checks our server for service updates, and the widget will occasionally check for a new version of the widget. In both cases no personal information is sent aside from your IP address, the version of the app you're using, and so on.

If you choose to use our syncing services, your tracking details are sent securely through our server. Your passwords are never sent through our server.

From their related Notefile application (junecloud.com/sync/help/notefile-mac/how-secure-is-notefile.html):

If you choose to use Junecloud sync, your notes are sent over a secure (https) connection to protect your privacy. Your notes are stored encrypted on our server. Your Junecloud password is stored encrypted in your keychain, in the same way that other passwords are saved.

From their privacy policy (junecloud.com/sync/legal/privacy.html):

We neither rent nor sell your personal information to anyone.

I've been using Deliveries and Notefile for years, on both iOS and Mac, and have been quite happy with them (Notefile consistently gets bits of text between my iPhone and Mac faster than iCloud can manage).

Hi, long time lurker/reader (VERY long time lurker) who just decided to sign up now.

This straight-up feels like an ad. Which I suppose makes sense, considering the site, but it's not really even written like the one from last year, which ACTUALLY sounds like they used the applications: https://forums.macrumors.com/thread...ixelmator-linky-lost-within-and-more.1940542/

It's so sterile and doesn't really give me any confidence that any of these might ACTUALLY be good. It's just a copy-paste depressing mashup.
It's because MacRumors is partnered with "AppShopper". An annoying partnership, but nothing we can do about these kind of posts...

unless you're suggesting that AppShopper is horribly sterile in all that it does and mandates the same from its partners... there's nothing to stop MR making more effort to dress up these kinds of posts.

I already own many of the productivity apps listed (similar deals/often free-for-a-day throughout the year) but I picked up Forbidden Desert (as well as Forbidden Island which is also on sale) and Pandemic. Got a chance to play Forbidden Island on the 12.9 iPad Pro... terrific!

The iPad Pro makes a great digital game board.

In the UK, Deliveries is not as useful as it used to be. It's Amazon tracking used to be great but now it's totally useless. Amazon updated their login procedure and Deliveries can no longer cope with it.
Can't you just copy paste the tracking number from the shipment notification email into Deliveries?

That's what I do here in Germany.

It's a really great app, but I wish they upped their game in terms of supported Asian companies.
17Track has tremendous support, but their app is meh.

The entry of the data is not the problem. The problem is that Deliveries can no longer automatically poll Amazon for updates because of their new security login procedures. You can use Deliveries to login into Amazon but once you close the app it can no longer update in the background and cannot give you any change in your parcel's status e.g. when it's dispatched and when it's out for delivery unless you manually login again (and I can do that myself without the need for an app).

Deliveries support for companies and couriers other than Amazon is somewhat limited. I shop at Amazon more than anywhere else. Deliveries no longer works effectively with Amazon. The Amazon iOS app now provides parcel update notifications. Given these circumstances I would not buy Deliveries today.

I got each of the Readdle apps when they were free "App of the Week". The Scanner Pro app has been really good and is constantly been getting better since acquired. The PDF Expert app is rather good as well.

Last week's Sketcher Pro has also been a fun addition.

Hopefully, they can add the Mutation Challenge module and the In The Lab expansion to Pandemic. Those are insta-buys for me!
