Ugh. Has any one of you guys cracked your graft bumper? I bought the bumper approximately 4 months ago and I've been through 3-4 replacements already. I rarely drop my phone on the floor, I've even stopped opening it to clean it. I really want to like this bumper. I've tried the element cases and they don't even come close in aesthetic appeal. This is the second time the bumper cracked. If this was a $10 bumper, I wouldn't care but for the price I paid for; I expect better quality.

Yeah it was at the exact same spot as last time at the lower right corner. I'm too afraid that take it off right now cause I know it would snap completely into two.

Mine has had no problems like that either and I'm the same as Peabody, I use my GC Leverage everyday and I love it.

I've had my black/matte one since Oct 25. I have used it everyday since then, have dropped it on hard (non-concrete) floors on several occasions and have also taken it off many times to clean. Mine is still in VERY good shape.. no chips, cracks, dents, and no chipping of the finish.

This! I ordered both a black and gloss white case that arrived yesterday afternoon and I have the same exact issues with my black case. :(

The lever on the white one I ordered for my girlfriend though is nice and flush. The on/off button also works great on hers.

I'm also pretty disappointed at the fact I paid for Express shipping and that's not how it got shipped out. I have already sent an email to Graft about my concerns, so hopefully I could report back with some good news. Their customer service has been great so far, so I'm being hopeful.

UPDATE

So within a week of contacting Graft about the issues I was having with my case, they were able to quickly ship out a replacement and have it arrive this afternoon... And I'm happy to report that the replacement case is great! There is no longer an issue with the on/off button, and the lever sits nice and flush with the rest of the case.

Not only did the replacement case show up quickly, but they also included the prepaid return shipping label along with it. The company rep who I dealt with was also extremely helpful throughout the whole process. :)

Question to those who have had both v1 & v2 of the black/matte case: is the soft touch coating on the back plate of v2 just as soft as v1? If not, is there a big difference between the two?

Reason i ask is that my v1 case is starting to get a bit tatty so thinking of making use of my 50% discount code and getting v2 BUT i really love the soft coating on the back of my case and if that rubbery feeling isn't there on v2 then i'll probably stick to my v1 case :)

What's the difference, if any, between versions 1 and 2 for the black matte?

I haven't had any issues with my Graft Leverage, and I've bought quite a few. Case snapping? If you're removing the case everyday, of course it's going to eventually snap lol. I never take my case off.

Welp, I got a crack. It is in the bumper underneath the latch (between the two screws). The latch also wont sit flush anymore. The part of the latch with the "hook" (to the side of the sleep button) also seems to be curved upward ever so slightly, and when pressed on it pops the latch open. Will be contacting customer service shortly.

The 2nd Version has the screen protector built into the case (to avoid scratching the antenna) and (as for me) the latch/lever is more flush than the older model. I take my case off every once and a while just to show people and I have had no problem whatsoever.

I'm on my second one (the first one the power button broke off and the bumper cracked got a replcement) and the bottom left corner is cracking. I dont take it off much because of what happened to the first one. Maybe once every two weeks to clean the phone and the bumper itself. Was wondering if they would replace this one too. Anybody had theirs replaced more than once?

Thanks! Look forward to them!

This is what I came up with. It may be a little difficult to see but the opening beside the headphone hack is closed because of the screen protector. Also, about the picture I took to show the latch is flush... the picture is really bad and does not even show what I was talking about (cuz you can clip it down further). For example, I am looking at the case now and there is no gap at all. It is my everyday case. No Doubt. (even though I know this is super nerdy :p)

Oh and sorry for the delay on my reply. My dumb dropbox account was screwing with me. oh well. And if these aren't good enough, let me know, i just took the pics with my phone really quick. But hopefully this helps.

It looks exactly the same as version 1 to me. And there appears to be a huge gap with the latch and it's not sitting flush at all unlike mine.

Gah. I am going to have to take more pictures of this. The screen protector is now built into the case. The version 1 did not have that! I had it but had to ship it back. I would show you the difference but I can not. And like I said, the picture I took was bad. I would just disregard it.

Sorry for being dumb, but what do you mean "screen protector is built into the case"? How can this be possible?

Well you see, in the first generation of these cases, there was a gap where the latch was connected to the case (its in the middle of top of the case). When it was completely opened, people complained about it scratching the antenna band around the phone (you can view earlier posts on this very thread actually). This issue was taken care of almost immediately and the people who had an issue with it were given a "50% off a future product" and a thin screen protector like film to put on the antenna band to protect it from any potential scratches. Now that Graft Concepts has put a small strip of the screen protector on the case so the user does not have to put it on the phone. I feel like this is a small issue that most companies would not do. I hope this answers your question. If I am missing something, someone else can chime in and help me!

Ahhhh you mean a film to protect the top of the phone....i thought you literally meant a whole screen protector...which had me worried!!! Yes i'm aware of this issue and i've currently got a small piece of clear sticky tape attached to the area.

Anyway back to my original question: is there any difference between the soft touch coating (especially on back plate) between v1 and v2 of the black/matte case? From my understanding v2 of the case is less 'rubbery' (to make it more durable i suppose) but imho one of the best things about the v1 is the nice rubbery feeling and if its quite not the same on v2 then i will stick to the v1. I just thought it would be nice to make use of my 50% discount code :)

In all honesty, from what i remember from my v1 case. the feel is identical. Outside of that, its like they fine tuned a few things (from what I can see) because the case's latch is more flush, the sleep/wake button is just as responsive, if not more, and the screen protector-like film is actually on phone (its not an actual screen protector, sorry for the confusion). Everything else is the same.

I saw my local Apple store selling these and I will assume these are now updated V2 units. Apart from opening the case, is there any indication on the packaging that these are the newest versions?
