I think Hangman would be a very boring and unorginal name. I do not want to buy a game with the name Hangman. It just does not sound very atractive. I would try a more out standing name, for example a more fancyer version of the word Hangman.

Oh, and I love the looks of your game. :) Keep on working!

Some games play very well on the iPhone, but do not translate into a popular game on the desktop. I can see hangman being a popular game on the iOS, but its not something that would be a major draw for many people for OSX.

Looks great and I'm not trying to slam the OP or his work, just stating that an iOS app's success does not translate into OSX success.

Thanks for posting.

I honestly think the app's more suited to iOS (as you acknowledged).

My only MAS purchase so far is Lyrica (59p)

FWIW I just picked up the ad-supported iOS version, as I think the game could be really fun on the iPhone/iPad.

Although cheesy, what about iHangman? ;)

I sure hope that 'these little stuff' will find a way to thrive within or outside of the official app store. I bet someone is going to set up an alternative 'store' soon. Who knows.

Second day sales: 7.

Yawn

Hey, that's a 600% increase in sales. Don't give up just yet. I agree with akm3, who said...

...This will be slow burn/steady growth not an explosion.

The only evidence I see to the contrary is Angry Birds, but then again it's going on name recognition; it's a de facto "marquee" title for the App Store in general.

I think on iOS, people are willing to pay 1-2 euros/dollars to play a simple game - even if there are lots of free Flash versions online - because of the convenience of apps.

On a desktop/laptop, people may be more fussy. Because of the speed of Macs, the larger screen sizes and easier multi-tasking, it's easy to quickly go to a webpage to play simple games like this, so users are more likely to do that rather than pay even just 2 euros.

That said, I haven't played your game. If it has quirky graphics or sound effects and a good name, it could well be worth it.

Thank you all for your kind words and honest feedback! I didn't expect a smash hit with this game to begin with. But you guys' support has already made my porting effect worthwhile.

MAS is new and different from the iOS App Store. There is a lot to be learned, customer expectation, pricing, naming etc. I will keep myself busy.

Lastly, I am dropping the price to $0.99 immediately until I figure out what unique features/things to add to the Mac version.
